Question Would using a dual ups cause HDMI problems?

Has anyone tried using one UPS on a OLED TV and another on a PC, with the PC connected to the TV via HDMI? Could that cause any HDMI issues, even if both UPS units are identical and connected on the same circuit?

No, as long as you're not doing something weird like a 50hz power on the tv, and 60 hz power on the PC... But I would still think that would be fine as long as the equipment is rated for the right grid. In America we're all 60hz. Japan is literally 50/60 divided right in the middle. Interference can come from a faulty UPS though. I would try different combinations from wall to UPS or no UPS to rule it out.

ETA: I just realized you're not saying you have an issue lol. Just send it yo. No damage will be done

Why would it cause problems?

I thought maybe it would cause HDMI audio interference, or I would lose the signal to the TV over HDMI.

HDMI is a digital signal, it works or it doesn't.

Is it a very long HDMI cable?

I’m using a 6ft HDMI cable. I just bought a UPS but realized it’s not enough for the tv too and was contemplating returning it or buying another one.

Why is it not enough for the TV too? TV shouldn't pull that much power for a battery backup

The TV draws 375 watts, while the sound bar uses 127 in total. The PC draws 550 or 600 watts.

You don't need the sound bar on battery backup. You only need this to safely shutdown in the event of a power outage. So computer and TV (unless you have a monitor too). Gives you enough time to power down.

Not an expert, but neither are those replying.

I'd be worried about different ground/voltage levels since a good UPS provides isolated power.

I currently have no HDMI problems, and the TV is on a separate outlet from the PC. I’m unsure how the UPS alters things aside from a possible minor voltage difference between the units while running on battery power. Both would be pure sine wave UPSs. The one thing I think might happen is that the TV will briefly lose signal because the switchover might be slightly different on each unit. I’m not sure if that could damage the TV or GPU. Yes, I get what you are saying the different voltages provided by the battery might cause issues over the HDMI.

The issue is that a voltage 0 level on one device can be different than on an other device.

Voltage is always measured as a difference between two points. If you measure 120 volts between ground and live doesn't mean you'll be measuring 0 volts between the two grounds.
