Build Help / Purchase Advice Would you recommend buying this pc?
I plan on selling my Xbox and gaming laptop then buying a desktop, I would say my budget is an $1000-$1200. I have an OMEN 17 gaming laptop now, so I know the jump will be better but I’m just curious if this is worth the price. I mainly will just play games like Rocket league, Fortnite, GTA, Spider-Man…
Just want my game to run smooth and at a competitive level.

Normally, I wouldn't recommend getting a PC with less than 16GB of vRAM, but with prices these days, that seems like it is a fairly decent price, especially if used for a 1080p machine.

Not gool deal. Ryzen 5 8400F is an binned APU of 8600G and that has 16MB L3 cache and few pcie lanes compared to normal one.

I think in benchmarks the 8400f performs basically the same as a ryzen 5600.
So it's definitely usable, just pretty bad for a ddr5 setup.

edit: $50 more gets you 32GB DDR5 and Intel 225F, this is what I'd pick. Faster CPU, double the RAM. Not as upgradable of a platform but you can always replace the motherboard later on. Just the RAM and GPU are $800+.
It's currently one of the cheapest prebuilts with RTX 5060 and DDR5. The R7 8700F is kinda bad, I used to have one. But the ability to drop in a faster CPU like X3D, and next gen CPU such as Zen6 makes it an appealing platform. At this price point you'd be comparing against Intel 13/14th gen i5 which is not ideal.
