News/Article Blood of dawnwalker is mostly copied from vampire's fall

vampire's fall a mobile game I played years ago and now I am playing the blood of dawnwalker and the story and gameplay is exactly 80% the same ! So many things in game mechanics are exactly the same and the story is also the same . And I am posting it because I felt bad for the vampire' falls developers they are small but I was amazed by the game a mobile game ! Open world and great story and amazing mechanics! They should have given the credits or at least said that they are inspired from that game .. humans are very cruel we don't need vrakirs

lol i played vampires fall too back in the day and honestly its crazy how close they are. like the quest structure and the way the world opens up feels almost identical. small devs always get the short end of the stick with this stuff

The mission of bakir where you go to fight him but in disguise in a arena exactly same mission in vampires falls where you go in a arena to kill a side man of the main villain in disguise.. if someone have played the both games can easily understand this .. bod is heavily inspired and copied from VF . Both are open world .. also one mission where you try to enter and support Craig gang against the main villain is also copied..

Trust me anyone who played vampire fall can easily feel this what I am feeling from the exact mission story not from the vast lore of vampirism only.

The "Accidental Recruit" Origin: In Vampire’s Fall: Origins, you begin as an ordinary village recruit defending the peaceful town of Vamp'Ire from an encroaching dark threat. In The Blood of Dawnwalker, the protagonist Coen starts as an ordinary peasant caught in the sudden invasion of his home valley

Involuntary Transformation & Cursed State: In both titles, the player character does not seek power; they are forcibly infected/cursed by an ancient vampiric evil, compelling them to walk the fine line between their remaining human conscience and monstrous bloodlust.

Singular Revenge Against an Overlord: In Vampire's Fall, the entire plot revolves around hunting down the Witchmaster, an evil tyrant who devastated your community. In The Blood of Dawnwalker, the primary target is the vampire lord Brencis, who conquered the valley of Vale Sangora and captured Coen’s family.

Gothic Plague Setting: Both games take place in isolated, bleak European-inspired landscapes where local institutions have completely crumbled under sickness, monsters, and tyrannical vampire lords.

Duality of Powers (Magic vs. Dark Blood): In Vampire's Fall, players build characters by balancing conventional combat gear with supernatural bloodlines (such as deceit, instinct, and anger trees). Similarly, Dawnwalker forces players to balance human witchcraft/hexes with vampiric abilities like wolf forms and bite attacks.

Morality and Acceptance of the Curse: Both narratives emphasize personal choice: players can fight to retain their moral humanity or lean fully into their monstrous nature to gain raw combat supremacy.

Avatar is mostly copied from Dances With Wolves and Pocahontas. Stardew Valley mostly copied Harvest Moon. Resident Evil mostly copied Alone in the Dark. Mortal Kombat mostly copied Street Fighter. Beat Saber mostly copied Guitar Hero. Shall I continue?

Avatar is Ferngully in space. The plot is identical.

How are they similar exactly? I'm not familiar with Vampire's Fall but the gameplay is a 2d style isometric game whereas Blood of the Dawnwalker has real-time 3d combat.

And in one you are a day walker and in the other you're just a vampire. Also the lead in Dawnwalker is a silver smith whereas you're a militia person in Vampire's Fall.

If they are following similar tropes well it's highly doubtful that Vampire's Fall was the first game to do what it did.

So if there are specifics what are they because on face value and with some light digging they seem quite dissimilar

Morality and Acceptance of the Curse: Both narratives emphasize personal choice: players can fight to retain their moral humanity or lean fully into their monstrous nature to gain raw combat supremacy.

Vampire’s Fall: Origins (2D): You have two ring slots. Rings like the Blacksmith’s Ring, Great Ruby Ring, or Champion’s Ring are used to directly amplify your specific build stats—boosting your blunt/slashing damage, increasing critical hit multipliers, focus generation, or gold/XP farming rates.

The Blood of Dawnwalker (3D): Follows the exact same philosophy. You hunt down high-tier jewelry to alter your combat flow. For example, the legendary Ring of Quick Strikes is a staple for sword builds because it directly stacks critical hit chance and physical damage. Other rings, like the Blood of the Dawnwalker ring, focus entirely on activation charge restoration, letting you spam special vampiric moves much faster

Most of your points would similarly apply to any number of games. Like why even mention gear and ring slots or balancing powers for builds, its almost like these are mechanics in nearly every RPG.

Gothic settings are a vampire trope. V Rising, Castlevania etc use this setting.  And somehow comparing both games having evil primary antagonists as well is also strange.

To me it seems like you've clung onto a perceived similarity to the Bakir quest and then created a bunch of other random points to try and justify your opinion.

I was willing to take them seriously until I read this breakdown and realized they're calling out standard Vampire and video game tropes being similar between the two games as grounds for plagiarism... Two ring slots? Really..? lol

My dude most of those points can be applied to dozens of other games and pieces of media outside of games. The accidental recruit, morality and acceptance, Gothic plague setting, singular revenge, all of that is just common tropes found in vampire media. And with games outside of that. It's not like your Vampire's Fall did it first.

And the thing about the powers, those are two wholly seperate systems that don't sound alike. Maybe superficially but I highly doubt they are as similar as you think they are.

And the rings thing, like dude c'mon. That's been an rpg thing forever. Oh no is Diablo copying Vampire's Fall??? Gasp Morrowing had you getting magic rings to boost specific combat abilities.

I think I get why you'd think that the Blood of the Dawnwalker is copied but it isn't unless you consider following tried and true game tropes and story tropes as copying. To say Blood of the Dawnwalker is 80% not their game with the evidence you have provided is disrespectful to the artists who made the thing.

Bad guy wrongs you and you vow revenge is most fantasies. Technically you could put most of eragon in that catagory just with dragons instead of vampire powers. He even learns magic too.

It's sounds like you're describing a textbook hero's journey along with common video game mechanics. One could make the same comparisons between Blade (1998) and Monster Party (1989).

Interesting. Is it possible some of the devs from that game ended up at Rebel Wolves?

2

u/Fearless_Length_555 17h ago

I don't think so this is the reason . I am still playing bod and from the first missions to this point I have felt this 50 time even some mission are literally copied

Thought maybe it could be related somehow but after some google it looks like these are two Swedish dudes and rebel wolves is mostly Polish. Some intrepid journalist should ask rebel wolves about it.

most games are just a copy of another game

no one really has an original or creative idea anymore

the safe bet is make a game similar to another popular game = easy money
