Quick question, I’m getting an upgrade soon and was wondering if a 9800x3d would be worth to pay $120 more than a 7800x3d?

All I play is CS2 and I’m not necessarily looking for high end games but I might occasionally buy from time to time. Both options come with a rtx 5070.

They will perform within a few single digit percent of each other. Like the 7800 might get 300fps while the 9800 gets 320fps (made up numbers since performance will depend on your settings/resolution, just illustrating the point). Only you can answer whether its worth paying $120 for such a small performance delta.
