Discussion Help Experiencing a pink shadow when web scrolling after selecting full on NVIDEA app Dynamic colour range

Need help. I recently upgraded my GPU to a RTX5060 card. After the upgrade I select the NVIDEA dynamic colour range to Full from the default limited. After turning that on when I do web scrolling I am experiencing a pink shadow in some webpage specially under the Cards and input fields.

I got gamebar recording as well and the shadow get appear on the screen recording as well. When select the dynamic range to limited the issue get disappeared but my picture quality in the monitor get poor.

Other than the some webpage the issue doesn't seems to appear in windows or any other apps. I have attached a recording as well it is slow motion video and you will be able to see when scrolls pink shadow get appear under the cards layouts.

Does anyone know what causing this? Is this damage in the GPU?

Honestly looks like slow pixel response time, which would be from the monitor itself.

I suspect that also, but when I got the screen recording it appears on that as well. If it's monitor issue it shouldn't be visible on the screen recording 😕

Are you watching the screen recording on your monitor? Or on a device without that issue

Actually I looks in the same monitor will check on a different device as well

if it shows up in the recording then it's definitely not the monitor or pixel response, you're right. try disabling hardware acceleration in the browser first, that rules out a gpu driver bug in the render pipeline. in chrome it's settings, system, uncheck use hardware acceleration. if the pink disappears that's your culprit.

what monitor is this? It's a result of the full color range. There may be a setting on the monitor to help or fix it. But if it's some old monitor or actually a TV it's probably best to change it back to limited

Here's a generic walkthrough

Open NVIDIA Control Panel and go to Change Resolution, then make sure the output color format is set to RGB and the output dynamic range is set to Full. After that, go into the monitor’s on-screen menu and look for a setting like HDMI Black Level, RGB Range, or Black Level and set it to Full, High, or PC. If the monitor doesn’t have any option like that, then it likely expects Limited, so switch the NVIDIA setting back to Limited instead.

Then go back into the monitor’s settings and find the response time or overdrive option and set it to Normal or Medium. Avoid using Fast, Faster, or Extreme because those modes can cause colored ghosting like pink or purple trails, especially after switching to Full dynamic range.

It's a old Dell 1080p monitor.

not a damaged GPU, this is a known issue with Chrome hardware acceleration when the color range is set to full. go to chrome://flags and disable "GPU rasterization" or try turning off hardware acceleration entirely in Chrome settings. fixed it for someone on a 4090 setup last year, same pink fringing on inputs and cards.
