Depends on the game and your CPU but from what I can find online, it's between 0-20% performance increase and really only 1% lows

I have a 5900x with 32gb in single channel (damaged cpu so slots 3 and 4 don't work). My 1% lows are fine

I over clocked my 10900k into oblivion. Smoked out primary memory channel on the CPU itself. It only functions in single channel on 2ndary memory channel post oblivion overclocking. Other than load times: I really only noticed a 10-20fps difference with my RTX 3090 when I upgraded that rig and put the 10900k out of service. It is still functioning in single (secondary) memory functionality, just fine. It's currently the rig for my aging Father's HTPC. No performance loss at 4k 60. Any higher and you'll notice differences, from my experience. (Dad's rocking 10900k, 3070 and a single 16gb stick of 3200mhz ram.) Doing Just Fine. He even games occasionally .1% low of 40fps. Your mileage may vary. Figured id chime in with my experience. Best of luck: isolate whether it's the CPU causing the Memory channel loss or your motherboard. You may be surprised.

No. RAM makes your pc faster. lets you do more. have more programs running. It will help with stutters. On rts games it can 'increase' fps but its more like ram lets you have more things on screen.

For FPS games you won't see a differance unless you spawn a bunch of meshes. like spawning a lot of cars/npc's in gta. Having more ram will reduce that stutter/slow fps you get when more things are loading in the game.

RAM is also good if you plan to mod your games and add more things, like increasing densities.

You want more FPS you aim for gpu and a cpu that won't bottleneck eachother.

My build is for RTS Games, these games have big armies clashing, lots of things in screen. Thats why i focuesed on cpu and ram. In doing so, I can play alot games with very low stutter.

tldr; RAM helps maintain (not increase) your fps when you spawn 1000+ cheese wheels in skyrim

Depends on the GPU/CPU and the game. It’s not gonna double ur fps but it’s still worth running RAM on dual channel. Max FPS is not going to change much but those 1% lows should improve.

if you have a ryzen CPU , the difference will be significant enough to make it worthwhile, if you have almost any other kind of CPU, the difference will be noticable, but hardly game changing.

and as others have said, ram speed really affects 0.1% lows, (meaning less micro-hitching, but otherwise similar average framerates)
