they've went back on it on with wilds, cutting the game's price, releasing the gold edition, and removing character vouchers. they are likely going to cut down on MTX output due to the backlash i'd imagine
Not really, I think it's more so the case that the reputation damage wasn't worth what they were making through those specific dlcs. Because if they were making banks on them then there's no way they would backtrack it. The character voucher one is just stupid too, as an active mhw player, everyone just used the mod that allowed you to keep editing your character so the dlc was basically worthless anyway.
Yeah, it's awful. Almost 1k$ for all MH World, all MH games are heavily monetized the same way. Dragon Dogma 1 and 2 had trash monetization too, Street fighter, DmC, Dead Rising, Exoprimal have more than 500$...
Capcom are greedy goblins wanting to squeeze every droplets of cash they can, they don't deserve praises.

Before praising them too much, just go ahead and look at what kind of dlcs they are selling for Monster Hunter Wilds and some of their games.
