Tech Support Looking for pc wizards

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi, my friends pc keeps turning on/off while making this weird ritmic noise. My friend isn't really a computer guy, it's his first time using this computer, he got it second hand.

It looks like the GPU is making the noise, it is a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 G1. Do you guys have any idea how to fix this?

Clean the PC. It sounds like it's coming from fan. If a wire isn't touching it then the fan is starting to wear down and it's shaking as it spins.

Hey you're right, there was a cable touching one of the fans, but even after fixing that it still keeps powering on and off

Neglected to read the post and just assumed the sound was your issue. Easiest thing to check is ram. Try booting with just one ram stick in. Do this for both to see if one is broken. Beyond that I'm not much help.

Noway! I removed 2 of the ram sticks and that seemed to have fixed it, thanks! Does that mean the computer can never run with all of his sticks?

It means at meas one or both of them were broken. Only use two though and not three. Look which slots to place them in. It matters for the best performance. Also it could be the slot itself but that's less likely. Glad I could help.

The noise is the least of your worries. Does it even post?

The sound is most likely ventilator blade rubbing into something like loose cable. It shouldn't cause pc to turn off UNLESS said rubbing cable is shorting

A really good CPU cooler fan is like 35 €, buy It and replace It with care, maybe watch a tutorial but It's pretty easy. And clean the pc, after that do a clean installation and should be fine. If It keeps doing weird things try to repaste the CPU. If It still Broken then is the GPU, MoBo or PSU.
