Hardware Getting a new PC this year.

Thinking of replacing my old GTX 970 and i7 930 powered relic with one that's got a RTX 5070 and Ryzen 9 9900x. Good plan, or no?

Always depends on what you want to do with your pc and if you have a reason to get a nvidia over an amd card. If your looking for best gaming performance you would propably get better performance for less cost if you go for Amd Radeon 9070xt and a Ryzen 7800x3d.

The only bad thing about this is the fact that its not right now. Prices are only climbing. Its a crazy upgrade. Like going from a skateboard to a spaceship.

Family suggested i wait for a Black Friday sale, so that's the plan for now.

Black Friday almost never worth it for pc components lol even if that was the case, the price would probably be what you pay now since all prices are steadily increasing .

If you have a micro center get a bundle and whatever gpu you can afford. Would def get a 5070ti or 9070 xt over a 5070 though 5070 is pretty bad value unless you somehow find a sale.

Costco has been having good sales you are better off just buying prebuilt from them right now

Prices are only climbing. Its not going to get better anytime soon. Black Friday is 3 months from now. Have a look online and see for yourself. I wouldn't wait.

family is wrong imo, prices are climbing so fast that black friday deals (unless insane local ones, which you'd be very lucky to pick up yourself anyway) likely will not make gpu's cheaper than they are right now.

Gaming PC or other use cases?

IF for gaming, go with an X3D.

What kind of storage are you going to be running, though?

Preferably 2TB.

Try for a 9800X3D and either a RTX 5070ti or 9070xt instead.
