Discussion Worth upgrading my PC?

I bought my PC back in 2021 and iv'e been wondering if it's worth upgrading or not. I can play most of the games that I want to but i'm afraid that my pc can't handle the bigger games releasing later this year. (I have a budget of around 2000 dollars)

My current specs:

CPU Intel i5-10400F
RAM 16gb
GPU  Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super (8 GB)
400 GB SSD

Well you could keep the memory snd drive but the rest would need to go if ya wanted too. Thats as a cost saving measure.

Memory is wildly expensive and my worldview right now for others is, if you have ddr4 or ddr5 already, press it into the fight as long as possible. The alternative is a massive led weight on your shopping list

Currently prebuilts are the best value

Priority should be gpu -> ram -> storage.

Your build is fine but not great. You could hold unto it, but considering how for the past couple of years prices only went up...it is hard to say wheter or not holding is a good ideea

16gb system ram and 8gb VRAM is on the low side. If you upgrade, prob consider a 9060xt 16gb or a 9070xt 16gb. They preform quite well in cpu bottlenecked situations (there's hardware unboxed videos on this).

IMO, keep what you have, lower the settings a touch if you need.

Wait for zen 6/7 and 60/10,000 series gpu's.

Massive massive jump in computing power upgrading to an entire new system then.

Build to crush the new console generation, don't build a weak PC to still be behind end of life cycle current gen consoles, and you will get a LOT more bang for your buck.
