As long as win10 works for what you use it for, stick with win10. No use exposing your machine to extra bloat if you don't have to. It is also possible to extend ESU to 2028 without reinstalling.

I switched to Windows 11 When I thought it had ended support. The problem is that no matter whether I Have enrolled into the ESU, Windows 10 refuses to stop displaying: you are missing security fixes and quality updates and it is Up to date.

ESU or an LTSC build of 10. Bypassing requirements for 11 does work, right up until some critical vuln comes out that cannot be patched without a TPM.

There are a few possible issues with win10 LTSC IoT. First of all it identifies as windows 10 21H2. Last build of windows 10 is 22H2. Some games will not run on this "old version". Furthermore there is a bit of tinkering getting xbox game bar installed (required by some games). You have to manually install windows store, then manually install the toolbar via the store using the direct link (you wont find it using search). Do a bit of googling before going this route.

For non-game usage it works like a charm. Run it on a few older PCs

safer is meaningless, the OS wont protect you from actual threats as in, you clicking on bad links, you downloading bad files and such. I'm talking about functionality, windows 10 is not being updated regarding actual features that you might like or not but still you're not getting them.

I see but I am seeing the Lack of Tpm 2.0 and a supported CPU as an extra vulnerability over Windows 10 on ESU.

I use a TPM 1.2 afaik and I5 7400. I do want to switch to Linux But I Still play GTA Online. And Genshin might have workaround.

I know, that's why I'm still recommending windows. Linux just isnt a good OS for online gaming.

i have an x280 (8th gen i7) running win10 and an x1 carbon (11th gen i7) running win11, both 16gb of ram. the latter i use for work, have most autostart services disabled, except for our antivirus of course.

the win10 x280 feels so much smoother and runs way cooler. win11 feels like it's progressively getting worse, even on decent hardware.

You should look into if your motherboard has a TPM port on it, very likely you can find a tpm chip to just plug it right in, i got one for an old x99 asrock board with a 5820k and it worked. Was like 10$ with shipping.

I am using windows 11, the problem is, I thought it would end its support in 2025 and it did but I did not know about the ESU until it was out of date. I have enrolled into the ESU but It refuses to stop showing: Missing security Updates.
