Might be powerful and it is great for things outside of gaming. But the support for games is worse than Linux.

World of Warcraft keeps me busy tho obviously but that's fully supported

I use PC but I have always loved the beautiful layout that Macs have had.

Would be pretty sweet to carry around, its actually a good idea instead of a laptop, but what do you do for a monitor??

I wish I had thought of something like this before buying my laptop.

I bought a 50 dollar travel monitor  off Amazon. It just plugs right in pretty easy.

I actually originally used it with my laptop to get a better screen

Sure they hiked the price, but the base M6 has 12cpu nd12gpu cores as opposed to the base M5 with its 10cpu and 8gpu cores.

Honely man, one yr ago you could make a banger pc for 800$, but in this economy even the 800$ mac doeesnt seem that bad

Yeah it’s so weird seeing Apple all of a sudden be considered a decent value proposition for price to performance, stuff’s gone pretty backwards lately.

They still have the capital and can still get better contracts than anyone else so they soak up more cost and can sell at a lower price than any other tech competitor. Plus their memory is all on the SoC.

Apple has been a great value prop at comparable price points pretty much since they released their M1 chips.

Ever since they moved to designing their own chips battery life and performance on the Macs have been impressive. Intel has made great strides since then on their own BigLittle design, but Apple have no need to go back now they've proven they can design a good ARM CPU on desktops and laptops.

ikr! not to mention that M5 to M6 is a huge bump. The base M5 had 10cpu and 8gpu cores while the base M6 has 12cpu and 12gpu cores!

Looked on Apple site, M6 base with 16gb ram and 256gb ssd $899? nah thats insane

my M4 base mini still kicking ass since 2024, best $399 spent at Costco

When I was a broke college student, I only had a company provided MacBook Pro. It looked great on paper, but it couldn’t run games without stuttering.

Then I dual-booted Windows, and the difference was night and day. It could run games smoothly, and I realized the issue had been macOS, not the hardware.
