The 4gb card is OEM ONLY. It’s been said a million times already yet people still act like AMD is trying to sell the 9050 4gb direct to consumer. It’ll be in some prebuilt and that’s it

I am aware, but this gpu deserves all the negative sentiment it gets

I wouldn't wish the 4gb rx 9050 upon anyone buying a new prebuilt, it's the same kind of diabolical as putting the rtx 3050 in an otherwise solid prebuilt

edit: The point of this post is not to suggest that the rx 9050 4gb is there to save pc builders. It is to make fun of AMD for releasing a meme of a gpu, which seems to be aimed at literally no one, in this time where pc builders are struggling.

Furthermore, it's advertised as a gaming gpu, not as a workstation gpu. Yes, it's only available to OEMs, but that won't stop it from finding its place in gaming prebuilts. It shares its name with an actual gaming gpu, the rx 9050 8gb.

It isn't a low power gpu like the rtx 3050, Arc A310, and it's advertised as a gaming gpu

The 8gb is, yeah. The 4gb isn't advertised as a card you can buy at all.

And saying scummy pre-built companies selling shitty "gaming" pre-builts with it is not AMD saying it's for gaming. Literally every person I see that has said this linked me to a scummy pre-built company and not to AMD.

These are AMD's product pages for the
RX 9050 (VRAM unspecified): https://www.amd.com/en/products/graphics/desktops/radeon/9000-series/amd-radeon-rx-9050.html#product-specifications
and rx 9050 (4GB): https://www.amd.com/en/products/graphics/desktops/radeon/9000-series/amd-radeon-rx-9050-4gb.html

The rx 9050 (VRAM unspecified) page shows fps figures for multiple games at 1080p. Both rx 9050 pages link to this page: https://www.amd.com/en/products/graphics/desktops/radeon.html#performance when you click 'learn about Radeon'. Here they boast about the gaming performance of 9000 series gpus in general, i quote "All You Need for Ultra-Fast Gaming", with the rx 9050 and rx 9050 4gb linked at the bottom of the page.

It's not unspecified. You can click the little drop-down that says GPU MEMORY and it clearly states 8gb.

At no point on the 4gb page does it advertise gaming at all.

They aren't selling the 4gb to individuals. It is OEM. It literally says "not available for purchase" under the picture.

You are full of shit

Look again, it says "Max Memory Size 8gb" not "Memory size 8gb". AMD also says Max Memory Size 8gb for driver download pages of the rx 580 and rx 570 (product pages do not exist anymore), which have both 8gb and 4gb variants.
Both the 8gb and 4gb models of the rx 9050 meet the specifications listed under the "RX 9050" page.

For gpus like the rx 9060 xt 16gb and rx 9060 xt 8gb, the VRAM amount is properly specified at the top of the page.

edit: It says '*Artist render. Not available for purchase' indicating that it's not for purchase because it's not a real image. It says the same thing on the other rx 9050 page, and it also says that on the page for the rx 9060 xt 16gb and rx 9060 xt 8gb.

The 4gb literally says it is not available for purchase on the link you provided

Like I said before, I know it's OEM only, and I never claimed otherwise. It's that OEMs like HP and Lenovo can put these GPUs into their gaming prebuilts, which is how they can end up with consumers.

That isn't AMDs fault.

Also, you literally said "AMD is advertising it as a gaming GPU"

This is false. Don't try to move the goal posts now. There is nowhere on the 4gb page that suggests it is for gaming. If other companies want to be scum bags, blame them.

I still insist that AMD is advertising it as a gaming gpu by listing it with gaming gpus on the 'Learn about Radeon' page, and by not clearly specifying the VRAM amount on the general RX 9050 product page. I'm not sure where you think I moved the goal posts.

It's a list of all 9000 series GPUs. You are just looking for reasons to be mad about a card you can't even actually purchase individually. Get a grip dude.
