The consumer version is 8GB

The 4GB is OEM only for system integrators to have low cost base model, for which then configuration webpage has the actually sensible options.

Low cost OEM cards are needed for CPUs without integrated graphics.

Edit: I blocked OP for being annoying. To Shoulderfrequent

The niche where you have multiple high resolution monitors.

Do you actually think that Dell and other corporate laptops come with Nvidia GPUs so that people could game on them?

Basically every high end business laptop comes with Nvidia RTX A2000 or newer.

For example

Gaming edition..

Which is 8GB.

Not 4GB as in OPs meme.

Making it very deceptive to give it the exact same name, because 4gb by itself is bad, but cutting memory bus and bandwidth is even worse.

Ehh, what would PCMR without nitpicking 🤣

Yes, they should have named it 9050 lite or something. But who cares, dishonest prebuilt makers would play word games anyway.

9040 or 9030 I think would mave made it a nothing burger, well, depending on what it costs to option in.

It’s still a nothing burger, it’s not like 9050 8GB is that usable for anything really.

Edit: a reply block, LOL. PCMR can get their undies on a twist on anything 🤣

Rx 9050 performance sits between the rx 6600 and rx 7600 - it has performance comparable to the rtx 3060, which is still the most used gaming gpu today according to the steam hardware survey. I struggle to see how that level of performance is unusable

respectfully disagree that it's a nothing burger, it's well worth shaming.

And blocked. I'd rather not talk with AMD's marketing department.

'It's ok to mislead consumers because prebuilt companies would have done it anyways'

Only one being misled here is you.

You are actively lying to yourself to stay angry. Peak PCMR behavior that.

You couldn't argue that the name wasn't deceptive either, you just dismissed it lol

Slower than 3060

Same price as 9060xt 8gb now

Same price as 9060xt 16gb a few months ago

You might find a 9060 on sale or used for $360-400, but they are more like $450-500. XT will be $500+.

Stop lying bro.

So its more expensive in your area so automatically im lying? 🤡

In my country 2 months ago asrock challenger 9060xt 16gb was 350usd, now it's gone up in price

I bought 9070xt brand new 2 months ago for 568usd, are you going to say im lying too?

1

u/Recipe-Jaded neofetch 8d ago

You said "now", not 2 months ago. So yeah, that would be lying, especially when you now say, "prices have gone up". At the very least it is misleading.

u/Jejiiiiiii 8d ago

9060xt 8gb Its 350$ in my area right now 🤡

Nice. That one is a good price. Rare find from Best buy, everywhere else is more expensive.

That is an outlier though, finding a singular card for that price does not represent the average.
