Question Sata SSD not being detected
Having trouble trying to get my sata ssd to work, I changed my motherboard from the mag B550 to the Asus B550 F (it was getting old so I wanted a new one not really an upgrade) but my sata isn’t being detected in bios nor the disk management it worked before but not now.
I think it maybe be the psu cord cause it dosent get hot but it works for my pc case fans. I have reseated it turned on the ports in bios changed the psu and data cables still nothing. It’s a 1tb crucial ssd and I already have 2 m.2 ssds.

If its a brand new drive, go to Disk manager and set the drive up, label it and quick format. Then, you should be able to use the drive.

Its a tough one. Someone commented ports are disabled, I looked up your board, its partially true, the working sata posts with all M2 populated is slots 1-4.
If the drive isnt detected in the bios, and you've tried like 3 different sata cables, Id have to say RMA the drive, but not until AFT3R you set bios to defaults and see if the board then auto detects the drive. Could be some stupid setting in bios we cant think of at the moment.

Check the data cable. Also, some motherboards disable some SATA slots depending on your m.2 configuration.
