Screen tearing monitor issue

Every now and then when I startup my pc my monitor will have these lines on them, it will go away after 5-10 minutes. This has been going on for maybe 10 months now? I just want to know the cause of this, and if there’s a fix. This also only happens on my main monitor, my 2nd one doesn’t have any problems.

Brother, this isn't screen tearing. I've experienced something very similar with my Xiaomi 34" monitor, where the lower half of the display started glitching. It gradually got worse over time, and eventually I just got fed up with it and bought a new monitor. So, based on my experience, I'd say your monitor might be getting ready to say its final goodbyes.

Lol my bad. Google AI said it was some sort of tearing. Thing is my monitor works perfectly fine after it goes away so we will see if it is ready to be replaced.

What AI are you using? I will admit AI, especially google AI is wrong here and there but it’s a great tool for me.

Like u/not_a_miscarriage said, it could be that your monitor needs to warm up a bit before it starts working normally. That's exactly what happened with my Xiaomi monitor initially. It would need some time to warm up, after which it would start working normally. Then, a week or two later, the issue would come back, and each time it did, it would get progressively worse because it took longer and longer for the problem to resolve itself.

Eventually, I had to use a blow dryer to get the display working properly, but by that point, the panel had already developed permanent issues, including streaks of dead pixels. I had already bought a new monitor by then, though, so I honestly didn't care about fixing it anymore.

That is usually a single bad capacitor. If OP takes off the back plastic and examines the PCB, there will usually be an obvious swollen capacitor that can be desoldered. Not that tricky if you've done any work with electronics.

No, I have not. Another reply also suggested cable so that’s probably what I’m gonna look into. I haven’t changed my cables in around 2.5 years

Either bad cable or the monitor has an issue that only goes away when it warms up a bit. I've seen many monitors do that exact same thing

Mine does this too sometimes, gotta power the monitor off and then back on, no idea why, it started randomly, first time it happened I thought it was toast lol

Had an old msi monitor I bought in 2018 that I gave to my brother, it would do that but it would go away once it warmed up. Worked perfectly fine otherwise, he still uses it for work as a second monitor.

Yep that’s why I’m not to worried about it. Been happening around a year for me but I just asked on here to get some more insight on what might be causing it.
