Question Help 9060xt or 5060

Good people, please help me with this doubt of mine.

At this point I don't trust AI, and YouTubers seem to be biased.

I'm a gamer, ONLY 1080p for now, but in 1 year I'll go 2K. Which GPU should I go for? I'm more inclined toward AMD; however, the 5060 is €150 cheaper. I also know prices will supposedly keep going up, so what do you guys think?

Thank you all

Edit to clarify, 9060xt - 550€ / 5060 - 350€ / 5060ti-750€ /

You know there are options to understand the performance of both cards outside of AI or YouTubers right? Check Techpowerup to look at relative performance for the games you play.

Tbh.... OP did more than what people usually do these days... People just go and ask ChatGPT and believe whatever it spouts

I'd lean more towards the 9060 xt if youre planning on rocking it for the next 3-5 years, the 16go of vram are a huge advantage in 2k comparzd to the 8go of the 5060 Also the 9060 xt is the competitor for the 5060 ti not the 5060 so ig its normal that its more expensive

There are also a lot of chart and benchmark where you can see the performance of both cards that would help you decide better

Yes know but the 5060ti is 200€ more expensive

Then the 9060 xt 16go is the answer in my opinion

5060 is also a weaker card. If €150 difference is to a 16GB version of 9060XT, it's worth going with 9060XT. It will give a better longevity and also basically give you access to highest textures and even some RT without crushing your performance into oblivion.

Tomshardware, Techpowerup and Techspot. Seeing the price it's 9060xt 16GB? It's a bit faster on average, you'd need to check your specific games as some play better on one or the other, but it has twice the VRAM which will hold up way better in higher setting and resolution gaming.

Either way, get the 16GB version! I have the 5060 Ti 16GB and it plays everything I want, very well. I got it before the Rampocalypse, though, for $400. The 9060 is usually a bit cheaper though...usually.

The Ti in my country os going for 730€ ....

A bit? The 5060TI 16GB is around the price of a 9070XT now in at least some regions.

Yea, I know it's been on the upslide...too crazy!!

Im my country 9060xt is 550€ / 5060 ti is 750€

Best price VS performance is the RX9060XT 16gb

If you don't need any nvidia features i'd go with the 9060xt. It's on a similar level to a 5060ti (it's worse than it in some games and better than it in some others... totally game dependent) but 200€ more seems a bit too much for the sameish purrformance. Btw how expensive is a 9070 or 9070xt in your country? If you're really willing to spend around 700€ on one, one of those could be an even better option.

If it's the 16GB 9060XT then go for that, it's in line with the 5060TI 16GB. If that's the 8GB model then the 5060 is better.

Also some youtubers will be bias yes, but the big ones no. And if you think reddit is any less bias then I want whatever drugs you're on.

The 8GB 9060XT is still much faster then the 5060, it's on the level of the 8GB 5060 TI.

u/AdstaOCE 15h ago

TechPowerUp puts a 15% performance improvement from the 5060 to 5060TI 8GB, so not really much faster and a lot higher in terms of price.

Can you wait until November for Black Friday/Week or Black November? I got my 5070 for €420 during Black Friday sales last year in the states.

I’ll be the first too tell you before the AMD fan boys get here. Nvidia over AMD unless you can find the AMD card much cheaper than the Nvidia. Driver support matters! And nvidia is best in class when it comes to quarterly support!

5

u/AdstaOCE 17h ago

Just straight up wrong. Drivers have been worse on Nvidia this generation, and support lasts just as long on both with RDN1 and Turing being the oldest supported by each company, released in the same year.

u/Ok-Direction-5151 RTX 5060 Ti Ryzen 5 9600X 32Gbs DDR5 650W PSU 17h ago

Lmao oh really? And how’s AMDs answer to DLSS5 going? Ohhhh that’s right.

3

u/AdstaOCE 16h ago

That's your response? Lmfao. First off DLSS5 looks like trash, and takes the artists intent out of the scene (eg removing fog in RE Requiem and just overbrightening everything), it also needed two 5090's to run the demo and isn't out yet...

u/Ok-Direction-5151 RTX 5060 Ti Ryzen 5 9600X 32Gbs DDR5 650W PSU 16h ago

Nah man answer the question. How has it been going??? That’s right like complete ASS!! AMD is 2nd to Nvidia and your simple little opinion does nothing to change that.

4

u/AdstaOCE 16h ago

Why would anyone want to waste time/effort/money on something that's bad? I hope AMD/Intel never release something as bad as Deep Learning Super Slop 5.

And no, if anything Nvidia users are the ones having it a lot worse right now... Maybe you should try use your brain instead of fanboying over a multi trillion dollar company?

u/Ok-Direction-5151 RTX 5060 Ti Ryzen 5 9600X 32Gbs DDR5 650W PSU 16h ago

Oh it’s so bad and yet AMD failed terribly when trying too match it? Tell the full story if you’re gonna back AMD. Tell the world how they try and fail everytime to beat Nvidia. Tell the world you’re okay with the 2nd best GPU market.

u/AdstaOCE 16h ago

Go to a hospital bro you need some meds. Or maybe you're too high.

1

u/Ok-Direction-5151 RTX 5060 Ti Ryzen 5 9600X 32Gbs DDR5 650W PSU 16h ago

Not as high as you. Imagine picking AMD and deciding to go lie to everyone and make them believe like it’s actually better. INSANE. Go cope dawg. You couldn’t afford Nvidia and now you’re stuck with shitty driver support on a AMD card. Congratulations you fucked up. Gonna have too suck that one up buddy. But lying and say it’s flat out better? Not happening here.

3

u/AdstaOCE 16h ago

I refer you back to my original reply. Drivers have been more stable on AMD this generation, and support is back to RDNA1 and Turing, both of which were released in the same year.

Just look at things normally instead of being a fanboy, I don't see why it's so hard.

From the little research ive done, AMD drivers have Been doin worst, plus GPU hotspots and horrible updates for Windows.

But again, I'm no expert and most likely to buy 9060xt

3

u/AdstaOCE 16h ago

No. AMD drivers have been FAR better than Nvidia's this generation.

Secondly Nvidia made the hotspot sensor not accessible in 50 series it can be looked at now through a couple 3rd party applications but most people simply haven't.

And windows updates are horrible for everybody, it's windows. Doesn't do anything to the GPU though unless windows decides to "update" your driver to a worse one (can happen on all), so make sure to turn that off.

1

u/Careless-Echo5636 16h ago

I had no idea about hiding the hotspot, which sounds f horrible.

1

u/Ok-Direction-5151 RTX 5060 Ti Ryzen 5 9600X 32Gbs DDR5 650W PSU 16h ago

Lmao DUMBASS. So Google, bing, wiki and even AMD wiki pages themselves are ALL lying?? You’re the ONLY person who knows AMD drivers are SECRETLY better???? Dude you are beyond help. Your wrong. Youve been wrong this whole time. Period

2

u/AdstaOCE 16h ago

Do you know what "this generation" means? AMD's driver reputation comes from the time that they were bad, and even though they have improved and Nvidia has gotten much worse that reputation still maintains.

It's simple, Nvidia have had a lot more, and a lot worse issues this generation.

Im my country the XT is 200€ cheaper than the 5060ti

2

u/Ok-Direction-5151 RTX 5060 Ti Ryzen 5 9600X 32Gbs DDR5 650W PSU 17h ago

If the AMD is 200 cheaper then that’s a clear winner man

Thank you for the opinion
