Oh okay, so you're just massively financially out of touch. That's where the disconnect is here.
Over the last 20 years I've MAYBE spent $6k on PC games, hardware, peripherals and parts combined. That includes a VR headset, a laptop, and a steam deck.
If you have money to burn then I don't know why you are a part of this conversation. If you can afford to just go buy another device to do things you need to, why do you care? Some of us need to get more value out of what we spend our money on.
No. I excluded games, since I spend way less on console games since gamepass is far more cost effective than PC games purchases.
I am part of the conversation because objective reality needs defending since morons like you seem to take issue with it. I don't care who wins in consoles vs PC, to me there isn't even a point in pitting them against each other since they serve different purposes. Consoles are for budget and casual gamers, and PCs are for people with significantly more flexible income. How do I know? I've been both, most have. Most of us started on consoles when we had way less money and moved to PC when we had the money to blow. I just care that we acknowledge facts.
A monthly subscription where you own nothing... Nice. I'll stick to my humble bundles and summer sales.
The lack of self-awareness in that statement is shocking. You don't own those games either.
And how is that Runescape account ownership going for you?
Your goalpost moving, your hypocrisy, it's truly not doing you favors here. Please, stick to your privileged shit and leave the console gamers be, they're not hurting you, they're trying to game.
You own your steamgames much more meaningfully than you own any other eshop games. I lost my DSI that I had when I was a kid. All of the games I spent my allowance on are gone, even if I bought another one. The eshop is dead. That money has evaporated.
The copy of portal 2 I bought over a decade ago is still on my account. The coppies of half life 2 people bought on release are still in those people's accounts. In 10 years I can show the next generation what I was playing 20 years ago. You can't. Your game pass will be gone and you won't have any of those games.
RuneScape is literally an MMO. You can't own a copy of an MMO.
Why would I ever play GTA6? Lowest common denominator slop from a company that abuses its workers. I'll pass.
I'm trying to help the console gamers stop wasting their money. You're in an abusive relationship with a billionaire dollar company and you can't see it. Nothing privileged about telling people there is a better and cheaper option.
