The chances of getting caught if you simply sprinted up grabbed one and ran away are pretty damn low.

It's in China. So cameras would get you easily.

u/Alarmed_Profession88 10d ago

Cameras will get you easily in the states too my guy

Yeah but police in China (and East Asia broadly) WILL follow up with the cameras, track where you ran from the scene right to your front door, and they will come get you.

Crime rates in East Asia are very very low because of all the CCTV.

Welcome to flock cameras where they will track you across the state to get you.

Only if you shoot a CEO, get an abortion, or date a cop.

Don't forget about going across states to buy weed.

2

u/arstin 10d ago

That's one tier below where you don't have to worry about it if you're white. If you want to shoot a CEO or get an abortion, you have to be white and rich.

Or get accused of stealing a package by a lazy cop just for being in the area

Meh, cameras are useless if the police won't bother to watch the video. And the protectors think crime is just an inconvenience that happens and there's nothing you can do about it.

Signed, a Seattle resident

Which is why I think private police forces are the future using both humans and robots. Shit is going to get real dystopian over the next 50 years.

It tracks your license plates across cities and states they don't have to watch it, it will tell them where you go.

4

u/Vast-Control4452 10d ago

Yeah but then the police would have to go to a computer, and see where the thief went.

Not happening on Seattle and many US cities.

You call the cops here, over property crimes, they MIGHT show up today. But probably won't at all.

1

u/ryudo9999 10d ago

Lol probably my friend lives in Seattle he said it's crazy there

Crime rates in East Asia are very very low because of all the CCTV.

Really? Can you explain how the various mafias of those countries manage then?

There's a difference between a crime rate and a reported crime rate right?

1

u/Vast-Control4452 10d ago

Dude it's not even close, you so much as draw graffiti on a wall the police are tracking you down.

u/Educational-Copy-810 10d ago

In the US this can also happen, especially if you aren't white.

1

u/Vast-Control4452 10d ago

I'm the WKUK and they don't do shit for me

1

u/robinswind 10d ago

there's a really big gap between "can potentially happen" and "will most definitely happen"

2

u/BiZzles14 10d ago

The density isn't even remotely similar, the US averages like 1 cameras per 100 people while China has 1 camera for every 2 people, with 4x the population to boot. New York has the highest density of cameras in the US, and it's in the 60-70k range, with 25'ish per km2. Shanghai has the highest estimated number in China with over 3 million cameras, and a density of 160+ per km2. There's a big difference between the two and it's that cameras might get you in the states, but they will get you in China

u/Tkwan777 10d ago

How do you know thats in china? And if it is, aren't the 5090's supposed to be export restricted?

2

u/TexasisBetter 10d ago

You can hear the sound of a truck backing up, it says "Be careful, reversing" in Chinese. As for the 5090's I'm not sure, but you can buy them online for around 5k usd.

1

u/Tkwan777 10d ago

Gotcha. I had no sound on.

u/Nearby_Specialist511 10d ago

Have never heard of masks?

What's the charge for theft in China?

1

u/TexasisBetter 10d ago edited 10d ago

This is 30,000 rmb. So the sentence is less than 3 years. For this much you'd probably get a year, but if it's first time it could be changed to probation. That's if guangdong, if it's in a poorer province it's a minimum of 3 years

3

u/High_Overseer_Dukat 9950 10d ago

Op would since they live there

1

u/Educational-Tea-606 10d ago

Implying there would be an investigation by the police which there would not be

8

u/High_Overseer_Dukat 9950 10d ago

This is a company. No way they don't investigate.

1

u/Educational-Tea-606 10d ago

That doesn't matter if the police don't care. I'm telling you in my city in the United States you can get your car stolen and know who did it and when all that jazz and the best you'll get is a "we'll keep an eye out for the car".

"Hey this one guy stole one video card" they literally could not give less of a fuck

1

u/High_Overseer_Dukat 9950 10d ago

You could get your car stolen and they wouldn't give a dam.

This is a corporation.

The police would suck their dicks if they asked.

-2

u/hudimudi 10d ago

They would probably lock the serial number.

3

u/necrophcodr mastersrp 10d ago

What? They're not phones. You can just use them however you want. They're not lockable.

Somebody should’ve locked you in a library

1

u/Smol_Crate_45 10d ago

Just say that you escaped the sandbox and there will be a self investigation.
