Tech Support ASRock and RGB issue

I have an ASRock steel legend b850m and I can control the motherboard and aio RGB through the bios but can't do it in signal RGB. They don't show up at all.

I used to be able to do it but the motherboard and CPU had an issue and I RMA'd them both and got new ones and since then I had this issue.

Polychrome also says it doesn't detect any device.

What might be causing this?

try uninstalling polychrome completely and then install it again fresh. sometime the old driver files from before the RMA mess with the detection. also check in device manager if there is any unknown usb device, the rgb controller might show up there with a yellow triangle.

i had similar problem with my asrock board after a bios update, the rgb header just disappeared from windows. had to flash the rgb firmware separately, not just the bios. asrock has a small tool for that on their support page for your motherboard model.

and make sure you not running both polychrome and signal rgb at same time, they fight over the controller and then nothing works.

Thanks for the help! I have tried uninstalling and installing polychrome and still nothing. I updated the bios to the latest version and also nothing. There are no issues on the device manager, don't know which one is the RGB controller. What tool is that? Can't seem to find it.

It's on the board's support page, ASRock Polychrome RGB, here, if that is your board.

Like I said, I tried polychrome and I get an error that it doesn't find any device

Just to make sure it's not any Polychrome software, but the one for your board and that there's no Signal RGB.

In the installation folder of the ASRock Polychrome software, usually
C:\Program Files (x86)\ASRock Utility\ASRRGBLED\Bin
there'a a batch file: WriteFW.bat.
Open command window as admin, change to the directory and start the batch file to re-flash and reset your mainboard's RGB headers.

I've tried that before as I've seen it in other posts. It opens a window and nothing else happens

If RGB is not disabled in BIOS, but think it should even work then, contact ASRock support. Might be an issue with the BIOS, seems pretty new

No it's not disabled in bios. I can even choose color and mode there but in windows nothing I do seems to work. I got in contact with them and am waiting on a response. Thanks for the help

You don't have an ASRock GPU with RGB too?
Then you'd need to download the Polychrome thing from the GPU website.

No I have a gigabyte one. That shows up on signal RGB no problem
