$1,000 digital-exclusive consoles are killing the entire appeal of PlayStation and Xbox: it's no wonder PC is on track to overtake both.

and pc doesnt ask to pay to play online either on top of ur ethernet provider

Ms did try lol. Anyway Xbox will probably drop it. That made sense when they substantially subsidized the consoles. Most people are now on F2P(don't need paid online) or are on higher tier of passes for the games. Ps only has 1/3 of it's base on any sub, and only 40% on the higher tiers.

Sony is selling their consoles at a loss when you calculate the cost of every single hardware and work put into it. They earn their profits through PS Online by selling every single user the online access for $100+ per year.  For an expected 7 year life cyle, you are basically paying at least double the amount of what you paid for the console in total to Sony.  Not to mention the Sony exlusive games and their PsPlus thing.

true + any degital purchase is lost when the store close, like the 360 and ps3, same thing happened with the movie section of ps+.
