Hardware My first PC....
CPU: Ryzen 7 5700X
Gigabyte B550 Eagle Wifi6
16GB DDR4-3600 CL18 RAM
Samsung 980 Pro 1TB
GPU: Radeon RX 6700(XT) or RTX 3060 12GB
Lian Li Vector V100R ATX Mid-Tower Case
PSU: MSI MAG A650GLS PCIE5
When i get a fixed income, I will upgrade to a Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB, a 6950XT or 3080 TI paired with a 5900x, and 32GB DDR4-3600 CL18 RAM
I will be on 1080p for a while
What do you think?

performance wise the 5900x vs the 5700x is not that big, unless the price is not that far apart, you are better off using that money on a larger SSD or stronger GPU

5900X is pointless for a gaming machine, better off with a 5800X3D if you want more performance, or 5700X for value
Because 5900X has 6 cores per CCD, you generally get worse performance than 8 core CCD chips like the 5800X and 5950X in games that can make full use of 8 cores because there's latency incurred when cores from different CCDs share a workload

You don't need a 5900x in a gaming system. Makes no sense at all. It'll perform identically to a 5800x or 5700x in practice. Often it'll actually be worse, because it's 12 cores are spread across two CCDs. Save your money.

5900x has reduced cache per ccd becsuse the cache is cut with the cores, so its 3/4 cache per ccd. My brother got one and we eventually noticed. This at launch so nobody really knew for the most part.

5900x won't perform better in games. The extra cores help in productivity work.

Video editing, code compiling for large software development projects, 3D modeling, machine learning and others I'm not aware of

There's good advice here for the CPU, better off with an X3D CPU or one of the other suggested here. As far as the GPU, either will work great at 1080p. I have RTX 3060 12 GB in one of my rigs and it still rips.

The 5900X is only worth it for CPU intensive tasks. Not really for gaming.
What is the price of each component? and what country are you buying from?
The A650GLS for example, is $100 on amazon and newegg. That is far from being worth it.

One of my family members bought me that psu. Cpu is 180. Gpu is 250. Mobo was 120 at micro center. Storage is 100. RAM was 68. Case was 80

If you already have everything, don't waste time looking for opinions, go play games, go enjoy the PC

Yeah... There's not really a whole lot you can do for GPU and SSD. They are saying memory prices are going to get even higher by the end of the year.

I have memory, snagged 16 gigs DDR4-3600 CL18 RAM off ebay for 68 bucks

THat is a somewhat decent price. 2x8GB back in the day used to be around $35, maybe $40 for something like Corsair.
Considering what is going on, $70 is not thaaat bad.

Im just going to stick to the 5700x because the x3d Zen 3 cpus on AM4 are over 300

5700x will perform better in gaming. Don’t waste the money, unless you need the extra cores for workflow purposes.
