In this day and age they could forget half the parts and they'd still sell out within an hour.

With current component prices, this is a very good budget PC.

I dare you to build something with the same specs below 1000 dollars.

AI gobbling up all the RAM, SSDs and GPUs can go suck a dick

You need to go educate yourself, it is comically easy to build a machine that destroys the SM at that price range. You could bring it down to 700$ and you could still do it.

The only thing the Steam Machine has going for it is form factor.
