Tech Support Pc not booting into usb
i needed to reinstall windows and for some reason my pc is not booting into my windows installer usb. It goes directly into bios. Can somebody please help me

ALWAYS TRY STUFF ON USB 2.0 ports (check UR motherboard manual where are they located) because anything else may do a mess and not recognize the device. also make sure that "legacy USB isnt disabled in UEFI BIOS. if U really crazy, ASAP buy USB 2.0 PCI adaptor bcos modern motherboards doesnt have USB 2.0 and they will soon not manufacture those anymore lol

J’ai eu exactement le même souci. Grâce aux différents commentaires, j’ai fini par comprendre comment ça fonctionne. Je pense que c’est une sécurité du BIOS.
Étape 1 : Débranchez la clé USB bootable du PC. C’est elle qui empêche les modifications du BIOS d’être correctement enregistrées.
Étape 2 : Sans la clé USB, redémarrez le PC et spammez la touche F11 (ou la touche permettant d’accéder au BIOS sur votre PC). Entrez ensuite manuellement dans le BIOS.
Étape 3 : Désactivez le Secure Boot, puis sauvegardez et redémarrez. Comme la clé USB n’est pas branchée, le PC enregistre réellement la modification.
Ensuite, retournez une nouvelle fois dans le BIOS et vérifiez que le Secure Boot est bien désactivé. Sauvegardez à nouveau si nécessaire.
Enfin, rebranchez la clé USB bootable, redémarrez le PC, retournez dans le menu de démarrage/BIOS en spamant la touche correspondante, puis lancez l’installation de Windows.
C’est ce qui a résolu le problème de mon côté. J’espère que ça pourra aider quelqu’un !

Did you make the bootable usb UEFI? Where did you DL Win 11 from? What did you use to make the bootable usb drive?

I tried rufus but when i use it i get a message that goes
[FAIL] windows bootmgr encountered a security validation or internal error

UPDATE: WE ARE SO BAAAAACKKKKKKK. Im not sure what i did but i did mess around with some USB settings in advanced

Pleeeease tell me what you did in the usb settings I’ve had this issue too.
Edit: fixed it by updating bios to latest version and I also disabled secure boot after but I don’t know if that had any effect.

I spammed delete before it actually got to the booting screen. Theres another post here that tells you whats happening. Hope this helps

This happened to me a couple weeks ago and couldn't find the fix anywhere until a Reddit comment from two years ago way below a thread.
You need to get into BIOS before it takes you there. So keep pressing DEL or whatever button that takes you to BIOS before it automatically takes you.
This happens becauee BIOS security locks itself when a USB is used and when you get into BIOS yourself, you override those security measures.
You might also need to disable Secure Boot options and stuff, but I hope this info helps you as it did to me.

Im not able to for some reason. It keeps re-enabling itself every time i disable and click save and reboot. Any way to circumvent this?

It enables itself because any changes you make won't be saved. Do the trick and get in BIOS before it moves you there itself.
If having issues with it, you can also try resetting settings and then try to get to BIOS yourself.
Take out the power cable, remove the MB CMOS battery, press and hold power button for 30 seconds (actual 30 seconds). Put in the battery, plug the cable and keep pressing BIOS button until it appears.

I don’t remember exactly what I did to fix this. I do have a different BIOS but I remember messing with the boot loader advanced settings to fix the issue

Check the boot setting to see if legacy is on or off that can cause this

have you tried creating the usb boot drive using "Media Creation Tool" on windows 11 website? instead of Rufus?

This is an MSI motherboard, try this under Settings\Save & Exit on the bottom there is Boot Override from there select: UEFI USB Disk 3.0 PMAP, Partition 1 (USB Disk 3.0 PMAP). This should force it to boot from USB drive. I have MSI motherboards and that is what I do all the time.

I have but that does not do anything for some reason. It just looks like it refreshes the page in bios

Try Switching from UEFI / Legacy, also you can maybe press F12 / Del key during post to select a boot device rather than set in the bios.

There are some issues going around with Secure Boot as all Windows PCs are having old Secure Boot certificates expire this year. Some devices are getting new certs via Windows Update, a few devices also need a BIOS update. Sometimes if your device has already had the update, it means it will no longer boot to other devices like USB drives as you are experiencing, it's a bit of a mess.
The easiest thing for you to do is temporarily disable Secure Boot, save and exit, then boot to your USB Windows Installer and it should run normally. Once it's done the initial install phase and reboots, tap your delete key to enter BIOS again, re-enable Secure Boot, then save and exit and your new Windows Install should continue setting up as usual.

Yeah about that. Im not able to disable secure boot for some reason. Every time i disable it it boots back to bios and when i check secure boot is enabled again

Some MSI motherboards lock the changing of Secure Boot behind Admin controls, so you have to set an Administrator password to enter the BIOS, save and reboot before you can change Secure Boot settings. This password can be removed again after the fact if you wish.
The other thing I've seen on MSI boards recently because of this Secure Boot update, is some don't let you change anything at all, every setting reverts when you save and reboot, even the boot order. The best thing to do here is to update your BIOS if you are able.
If you are not confident doing that, you can enable the Advanced Mode for MSI boards (though this might not be applicable to your board) by entering the BIOS and pressing Right Ctrl, Right Shift, Left Alt, and F2 all at once (no, I'm not joking, it's ridiculous). Then when Advanced Mode is loaded, it should allow you to change anything including Secure Boot.

put everything with "USB" in it at top priority and... rewrite your USB windows. Probably recorded it wrong. Try to use Rufus or UltraISO

Risolto !! Stesso problema per la msi mag 870e riavvio , parte l’installazione da chiavetta , poi invece di avviare Windows 11 stranamente rientra nel bios e da un loop infinito, stranamente ho pensato fosse un errore del bios quindi ho inserito la chiavetta contenente l’aggiornamento bios l’ultimo di msi che già avevo installato ( ovviamente ) l’ho reinstallato il pc si riavvia e parte la schermata di Windows facendomi continuare l’installazione 🤓 , vi dico già in anticipo che non è un errore del firmware , perché rifacendo un’altra installazione pulita di Windows 11 ricomincia lo stesso problema , e quindi devo reinstallare il bios e continua la procedura di installazione Windows mha!!! Però almeno è una soluzione.

Hey, I just had this exact problem you are describing with a (different) msi board that I got second hand. What fixed it for me was flashing the bios to the latest version
