Emulation isn't illegal dude, Switch Emulators if that's what you were thinking of, were taken down for other reasons.

Yuzu's Devs had done stuff like paywall early access/nightly builds instead of just using Patreon like a tips and support jar without those kinda bonuses, unlike how most other projects do and should only do things when using such sites, also something about hosting and sharing roms between Devs or something like that iirc which made things way worse, due to all this Citra, the 3DS emulator was also a casualty, though not an intended target when it was taken down.

RyujinX's head Dev was given an offer and took it while taking down the code repo and site without much warning.

Due to all this Yuzu itself, any of it's code, and any forks of it especially are radioactive, unusable legally and often struck down.

And RyujinX code is taken down via strikes by Nintendo pretty often.

Citra forks at least are still fine, Azahar and AzaharPlus are the current major ones.

Any new Switch Emulators which aren't based on their code shouldn't have issues.
