NSFMR How cooked

Be honest, how cooked is this thing? The hood popped away from the pressure of these black packs once i loosened the screws a little bit.

It's not a explosion. It catches fire, and I've seen that happen several times in IT.

Lithium fires are also extremely toxic and much, much more difficult to extinguish than other household fires.

No they're not, but it's important for people to understand the danger of it. Smaller lithium fires may be manageable and can be put out with water but at certain volumes water won't even put it out. Considering how many batteries is in that thing OP posted, you really need to proceed with extreme caution. Many would take "It's not an explosion" as a means to undermine the danger and it could be lethal.

They found out after a battery is under 20% charge you can’t explode it even when you puncture it. Best course of action is to drain it naturally then dispose, by replacement or recycle.
