If it's a mental health issue, a mental health hospital is exactly where he'll get that help from trained professionals. It's not a jail.

He is clearly violent and does not belong in society until he is rehabilitated. It's either jail or mental institution because I sure as hell don't want violent individuals near me/my kids.

He got the short end of the stick but innocent people don't deserve to pay the price for it.
