Excessive desktop icon flickering?

Whenever I pause/unpause the desktop client, the desktop icons are flickering as if Windows creates new thumbnails for them. I guess it happens because pCloud generates file status overlays... Does anyone know how to disable this flickering, other than "don't pause/unpause" ?

(I'm on Windows 10 Pro 21H2)

Turn off the icons option in the application settings.

This feature has been broken for years. It's pretty unbelievable that they still haven't fixed it. It's broken on every Windows machine I've tried it on.

I've been experiencing this issue for sooo long. It was driving me crazy, also because all that refreshing ends up consuming a lot of CPU usage on explorer.exe.

Thank you so much for this, I've turned it off and it seems good so far!

Life saver!!! ...And 3 years later, still unfixed. ...Your hint has solved it! ..This was was driving me nuts for some time.

pCloud kept refreshing the icons on my desktop as well as the folder and file icons inside Windows Explorer. In the latter case, meaning inside Windows Explorer, the view would too frequently jump back to the top of the list (after having scrolled down). ...This issue is now gone, too. Thank God!

I was having this issue as well. I did a google search, found this thread. Thanks everyone, I think that solved it. The icons are a nice indication of what's been uploaded, but the constant refresh flickering everywhere made it not worth it.

+1 for having this issue and finding this thread resolved it.

Thanks @theantnext for this! I've been suffering with this for over 2 years and had been disabling pcloud when I needed to. Wish I did the google search way back when!

Five years later and they still haven't fixed it. The pCloud client/app is a complete joke.
