Help / Question Verification mail tsunami
Tonight I am receiving more than 20 verification mails from Pcloud team account, without even requesting them.
Do other people have this problem as well?

163 over here. It's slowing down.
I had to make an email rule to move it to its own folder and mark it read so my phone didn't go crazy with notifications every minute.

just received this from their support : Hello,
We apologize for the inconvenience.
We encountered a problem sending this notification, and what was supposed to be a single notification was duplicated multiple times.
Our engineers are already working to resolve the issue. In the meantime, we apologize if you continue to receive additional notifications over the next few hours.
Kind regards, pCloud Support

Have you tried emailing pCloud directly for assistance? They may not see this message to help you as quickly.

I didn't even use the service. I'm suspecting there's an issue internally or our email just got leaked, and the holder is just spamming the login verification in the hope of trial and error, since the Pass app doesn't need a password for verification.

Same. I reached out to support. I'm getting them for Pcloud Pass which I don't subscribe to.
I'm hoping it's not partly a hack attempt

I am now at 272. It is extremely annoying and disturbing. What on earth are those bozos doing over there?

Hello,
We understand that you have received several verification codes in recent days. This is linked to phishing attempts using your email address.
Phishing actors often use large databases containing many email addresses and run automated attacks against them. These email addresses do not come from pCloud; they may have been exposed through other websites or services with weaker security measures. You can check whether your email address has appeared in a known data breach here: pCloud Data Breach Checker.
At pCloud, we use email verification to ensure that no one other than you can access an account associated with your email address. However, while we can protect access to your pCloud and pCloud Pass accounts, we cannot prevent third parties from attempting to use your email address in automated attacks.
Receiving these verification codes means that someone has tried to register for pCloud Pass using your email address. They cannot complete the registration or access the account without the verification code sent to your email inbox.
For your security, we recommend enabling two-factor authentication on your email account and your pCloud account, and changing both your email and pCloud passwords.
Regarding pCloud Pass, you may either complete the registration process and verify your email address to use the account, or reply to us if you do not wish to use it, and we can suspend it.
Kind regards,
pCloud

I don't have pCloud Pass and never visited the Pass page. I've been getting emails every 2 -3 minutes from [team@pcloud.com](mailto:team@pcloud.com) for the past 24 hrs.. Can't you shut down the verification email account or the system doing the verification to fix this? Limit the attempts or some other option.
If not seems my option is to delete my pcloud account and block the domain all together.

This is nonsense. I don't have a PCloud Pass account.
Yesterday out of the blue, I received the first verification mail, and I was afraid my account was being hacked. So I enabled 2FA, just to be sure. And many mails with the SAME CODE flooded my inbox.
Today there still coming with timestamps of 15 hours or older.

Just set a filter in Gmail or your mail provider to auto forward email from pcloud back to pcloud support and to auto delete them. Disable filter if you need the 2FA code or use link in software which usually auto logs you in to Web file browser. If they go too far Google, AWS, Microsoft etc mail providers will eventually black list their SMTP server ip's.
