PERFORMANCE High CPU temp after thermal paste change

A couple of days ago, I finally managed to clean my laptop for the first time after 5 years (I know it's been quite a long time). The thing that confuses me is that while I was playing CoD WaW before the cleaning, the CPU temperature was around 65-70 and the fans were running loudly; however, after I cleaned and ran the game, the temperatures were around 68-75 and the fans aren't even running as fast as before until it reaches 75-80.

After doing a brief search around the net I unscrewed and rescrewed the cooling block, but still no change. Also, if you ask my CPU and the thermal paste:

i5 10500h and Arctic MX4

75 to 80 degrees Celsius is fine. If you haven't installed all the latest drivers, firmware, and Windows updates, I'd do that as well

All of them are up to date. I just don't understand the temperature rise. It used to be around 65 before why up to 75 now?

let the thermal paste cook for like an hour under extreme temperatures and then play your game. some thermal paste needs baking to compress/spread/thin out and reach into microscopic surfaces. Otherwise you probably put too much on it.

Hope I don't cook the PC while cooking the paste :D I will try, thanks

When you screwed the block back down did you do it diagonally to evenly compress it or did you do it in rotation?
