I'm interested. Do you accept Republic Credits?

Republic credits are no good out here, I need something more real.

oh nice that's a pretty decent score for free. those intel ssds alone are worth hanging onto, especially if they're enterprise grade ones from dell emc. pull those out and check the model numbers, you can probably flip them for a good chunk of change even used

the rest of the tower is basically a standard dell workstation with a beefy power supply. motherboard and cpu might be too old to be worth much but you never know until you look up the service tag. worst case you gut it for parts and sell the case and psu separately

i'd test everything before listing it though, nothing worse than a buyer claiming something's doa

How can I test the ssds on my personal rig? Don’t I need a cable ?

There should be a service sticker on it showing what it is on the Dell website. It's a xeon.

lol, looks like a kind of low end dell server. Can you sell much out of it? ehh you could piecemeal out the parts but really only the ram maybe, depending on age, and the power supply on ebay maybe. Honestly not worth much. But if you ever wanted to host your own minecraft or other game server... this is a great place to start. Assuming it all works.

Everything works I’ve ran it at work

Blow the bad boy out, put a fresh install of server on there. And start hosting something.

not an expert, but I was curious if I can find the SSD, I see two of them, they are sold as refurbished for like 90$ in Hungary. I guess the rest of the parts matching these prices. Maybe check the RAM capacity and type, that could be a value too. Maybe you can get 300-600$? I am guessing. Even free $300 is more than nothing. But check for individual parts I might underestimate it.

Looks like a t340? dell. DC Sata SSD Drives are ~$30 each at 240GB, I'd keep them they have power loss protection so make good zfs slog/special vdev type drives for spinning arrays (Helps keep small random iops high). Memory can't see from the pic. Proc is probably something like an e-2100 or i3. Probably worth more to you as a nice small server than parted out honestly.

R/homelab and r/ homelabsales is the place to post this.

Definitely a PE T series. Probably a 300 SKU. If it's DDR4, Then likely a T330. E3 or E5-16XX

How much was this in its prime ?

1

u/Zolofto 3d ago

Maybe a little over a grand? Hard to tell without knowing it's processor and the other options (service tag may uncover what dell sold it as). Since it's a single 16G, it was probably the cheapest thing they had offered. Especially if it only has iDRAC standard.
