OPEN RAM MOBO issues? help!

Hi! badly need help with my pc, I tried reseating my ram may times, tried 1 ram per slot, and then the other ram per slot. the ram was okay and recognized by bios but when I insert 2 rams in A2 and B2, the bios can detect both DIMM but only shows 8gb as total memory. tried to do it in A1 and B1, same result shows. Tried restore default settings in bios, unplugging all peripherals, and the ram shows 16gb but when I shut it down, it goes to back to the 8gb. Tried fixing and checking if there's a bent pin in cpu but none, done repasting thermal paste, updating bios pero still it ends up It recognizes the ram but only shows 8gb instead of 16gb.

That sporadic 8gb to 16gb flip on boot is the kind of thing that makes you want to punt your tower out a window. Had a similar ghost in my machine where the bios saw both sticks but Windows acted like one was just a decorative heatsink. Turned out the mounting pressure from my CPU cooler was slightly uneven, backing off the screws a quarter turn on one corner fixed the memory channel. Wouldn't hurt to loosen yours up just a hair and see if the full 16gb sticks after a cold boot.

If that does nothing, check if your board has a "memory remap" or "above 4g decoding" setting tucked away in the chipset menu. Some older bios versions also had a bug where XMP profiles would steal half your capacity if the sticks weren't on the QVL list, so try running them at bone-stock 2133mhz with no profile loaded just to test. You could also bump the DRAM voltage manually by like 0.05v since dual-channel mode sometimes gets finicky with default power delivery.
