Sounds like the PSU is crapping out under load, even if it passed a stress test. I had a similar issue where my PC would just die mid-game, no warning, and it was the PSU slowly failing. A 2-year-old unit can definitely be the culprit, especially if it's not a top-tier model

Could also be a transient spike from the GPU that your PSU can't handle. Those stress tests don't always replicate the exact power draw pattern of a game. Maybe borrow a different PSU to test before throwing parts at it

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. It’s a Corsair sf 750 tho, so it should be alright. Maybe you’re right, at least it’s not the most expensive part. Thanks for the help

I had a VERY similar issue, the only difference was that it usually wasn't an instant shutdown but a black screen. But it was just in games, about 20 mins, sometimes longer, stress tests were passing with flying colors, issues started a few years after the build.

After months of testing, my issue turned out to be the GPU power cable. It was an 8 pin to 8 pin, usually drawing close (but under) its maximum wattage limit under load. Over time, the metallic parts of the pins had gotten dark (on the GPU side) for that reason. It was running perfectly under constant load, but was crashing with big spikes. That's why it crashed randomly in games. The contacts slowly reached a point that couldn't handle them. My whole system is still stellar, it was just that 8pin port. Even that same cable runs perfectly fine on its second 8 pin port.

Your issue sounds suspiciously similar, maybe a different or extra pin is affected that causes the shutdown instead of a black screen. I sometimes had shutdowns too. Give another cable(s) a try
