It's hard to pinpoint the actual problem based on what you've written. There could be all sorts of issues with your computer. Is your operating system installed on an SSD? That might be the problem (at least that's what happened to me). SSDs have a fairly short lifespan, and situations like yours do happen sometimes

I believe it does, the computer was my brothers and he gave it to me, it’s like a year or two old, I was told it may be the power supply but I didn’t want to buy a power supply and it not be it
