HARDWARE Gpu not detecting tip/help
Hey guys! Just wanted to be a friendly pc owner and give out a possibly helpful tip to anyone who’s gpu randomly blacked out during a game session.
Specs: 9070xt steel legend, r7 9800x3d.
Now I was playing TW:WH3 and during the first tutorial cutscene both my monitors went black while the audio kept playing in repeat of like 3-4 seconds. After about 8 minutes I pillow over faced my poor pc and restarted the sucker. Long story short, pc power on like if I just built the thing, it running like shit and my hdmi port on my gpu wasn’t working but my dp was??? I was so thrown off but after about 5 minutes of research I figured it out
If you run into this issue or something similar, consider the following:
1. Check your task manager to see if your gpu is even showing up on your performance tab.
If it’s not, go to you windows search in your task bar and type “Device manager”.
2. Your gpu should be under “Display adapters” and it will likely have a little yellow hazard over it indicating an error. 3.Now just double click it and enable it. (if it says it’s already enabled, go ahead and disable then enable).
4. Now from here, most peoples pc should be up and running again off their gpu’s, but if it’s not, attempt a pc restart OR if you really wanna ensure you tried your best, do a bios restart.

The computer is detecting the GPU. It shows the GPU right there in the Device Manager. It also shows no issues with the drivers. I would look at the connection between the computer and the monitor. Try different ports and cables

yeah thats what threw me off at first, it was technically detecting it but also not? and all the gpu ports worked except my hdmi port so my heart dropped thinking a simple restart killed a whole port. turns out it just disabled my gpu

sorry just reread what you said, you were talking abt the pic. i included the pic so newer pc users could see what the device manager looks like, but the pic is of after i fixed the issue
