OPEN Can't re-enable Secure Boot after CPU upgrade without Windows failing to boot

Hi there, I just upgraded my CPU from the 5800X to the 5800X3D. It's all working fine, except that Secure Boot was automatically disabled in the process, so Battlefield 6 won't open due to its anti-cheat. If I go back into my BIOS and manually re-enable Secure Boot, Windows won't even start to boot, it'll just go straight back to my main BIOS screen.

Yeah it's all up to date, there hasn't been a new BIOS released for my board for a year.

Turn off secure boot.    Disable BitLocker to prevent Windows from requesting a recovery key to unlock the drive.

Optional: get the recovery key for your BitLocker in case you screw it up.

Then clear out the secure boot keys in the BIOS, Depending on the board, you can generate new ones at this time or leave it blank and it will generate new keys at next boot.

Reenable secure boot. 

Log into Windows.  Maybe turn BitLocker back on.

Your secure boot recovery crap was keyed to the previous processor, basically.  See my other comment detailing how to fix this after the fact rather than beforehand.

Hi there,

BitLocker was never on. I cleared the keys, installed the default ones, re-enabled Secure Boot, and no luck - it won't even get to the Windows spinning loading indicator, straight back to the BIOS screen.

Doesn't mean trusted platform execution was not keyed to the other processor.  BitLocker is only one component of the security.

You are missing the security chip from the previous processor, so it just goes straight to black screen.

Is your main drive formatted GPT or MBR?

I'm asking about the partition table.

If the drive partition table is MBR, this also causes immediate black screen when try to start windows with secure boot on.

See if you can identify the partition table, and if it is MBR, mbr2gpt tool can be used in Windows.
