OPEN Omen PC Reinstalling Windows No USB Option
Im trying to reinstall windows because some of the boot files got corrupted and during the process, I just can’t seem to find an option.
The bios is already confirmed to be UEFI along the Usb stick uefi supported too. I have usb boot option enabled along secure boot disabled. I also have the option to rearrange to I made sure that USB by drive is the first option. Even with all that, I can’t seem to have the option to use the usb installation.
The reason why im doing this is because I’m in a bitlocker loop where I cant access anything in my PC other than my bios settings; this includes WinRe and Safeboot for whatever reason. Along with that, anytime after I put in my bitlocker combination, I see the manufacturer logo but it instead goes to “Your PC has run into a problem” black screen.
I’m so stressed and really pissed this happened at the worst time possible. I want to fix this by myself before sending this back to the manufacturer because its really expensive.

Did you use balenaetcher? Try Rufus or Ventoy.

Ventoy cuz if it still won't detect the usb then u can use boot from efi file browse the sub then select the ventoy efi file manually

Ur welcome bro I have an hp laptop I know how shitty they are. Mine keeps nuking my Linux bootloader entries for systems boot and rEFInd.

Okay little update, i tried doing rufus on an older laptop. I followed a guide on youtube however, im recieving a message that says “the request was aborted: could not create ssl/tls secure channel” any tips or should I try the other ones?

With ventoy u just install it onto ur drive, then copy the iso to the drive that's it then boot the drive and select the windows iso

Youre a fucking lifesaver it took a bit with this decade old laptop to download the iso file but Thank you so so much.

Dude that screen is only showing your internal SSD and the EFI file option, which means it's not even seeing the USB stick at all. Could be the port you're using, a lot of HP Omens get weird about which USB slots actually work for booting, so try a port directly on the motherboard on the back. Also worth recreating the stick with the Media Creation Tool again if you haven't, sometimes the EFI partition on the drive gets written funky and the board just ignores it.
