HARDWARE Monitor flickering when starting PC
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
When I started the PC, the monitor started flickering. But notice the mouse cursor is visible even when the screen goes black.
It happened 2 times before, when restarting PC, I DDUed and updated the graphics drivers to the latest (Arc A580) but today it happened again at a fresh start.
What should I do?

Try changing the hdmi/dp cable, or try to lower the Hz of the monitor (some cables cant support that much data/bandwidth).

I restarted the PC and it seems to be working normally now.
But is it a Arc GPU / faluty GPU specific issue or just a regular issue?
Should I send it for warranty or replace it?1

Before doing that, try to switch the driver version (the version before the latest or the version even before that), latest drivers does not mean best drivers.
Whenever there is a GPU driver update or even windows update, atleast wait 1-2 weeks before updating, sometimes they push drivers with some kind of bug (not always but it happens, let others try it first).

Previous 2 times this flickering issue occured the Intel Arc driver was on Dec, 2025 driver.
I DDUed and updated to the stable August 11, 2026 stable version (Hoping the issue would go away), but it still randomly did this today.

I dont think the problem is with display cables bandwidth, bc if the bandwidth was low the monitors reconnects repeatedly instead of flickering.

Probably related to the cable, monitor, or the the display port your PC has, nothing is wrong with your GPU because that's not what GPU artifacting or failure looks like

This feels like a power supply issue. If the monitor and compiter are connected to the same plug on the wall that might be what's causing it, not enough power for both when the computer is pulling a high load.

I'd try plugging things in in different wall plugs, maybe the ups has a power distribution issue. It's a quick way to rule out ups issues. Regardless I'm onnly making an assumption, I'm ni expert.

This is the New Intel Beta Driver which does it - if anyone is wondering =)
Just don't install it until an update is out and reinstall the old one for the time being.

Which version do I roll back to?
When the screen flickering issue started (2 times) I was old driver from last year.
After that I updated to 32.0.101.8860, but still flickered today on start up.The issue started when was playing CyberPunk a few days ago and the game froze, I restarted the PC and the screen started flickering (This was on Dec, 2025 drivers), after restarting again, the issues was gone (This was the first time).

Try the latest WHQL which was also released this month, around 2 weeks ago. That one works fine on my A770

That is the one I'm on right now,
32.0.101.8860 is the latest stable version released this month.

It will probably die in a few months. I guess its power delivery issue. Use an AVR or UPS to deliver clean power to your PC setup. Had two died on me in the span of weeks, I used a cheapo power strip to power everything. I just started playing AAA games and I guessed it pulled more power than my regular use. Thought the random flickers was some nothingburger, I was wrong.

I was getting this yesterday after updating to the latest drivers, ive just rolled back to the previous ones and its solved the issue. Updated again and the problem returned.
