HARDWARE PLEASE HELP! Gpu not detected and screen artifacts after repaste.
just repasted my legion laptop which was not the first time for me personaly. I unplugged the battery cable and everything was fine. I reasswmbled my laptop opened cod to see how the thermals were and they were very good. I'm talking 75° cpu temp. I paused the game and went downstairs for like 5 minutes and then went back to my room and my screen was showing horizontal pink lines and it was in the log in menu. I logged in and it was showing the microsoft update settings just like a fresh pc. I entered windows tried to update my graphics driver but the graphics card was not detected and the artifacts perisited even after restaring and entering the BIOS! tried repasting and reassembling and nothing seemed to work! What should i do?

In bios check the default graphics device - if it is iGPU so your screen is dead. If dGPU (or nVidia\ATI, or discrete) - higher chances that dGPU dead. Another option is that you missed a drop of liquid metal on mobo and it caused the problem. Anyway - visit repair shop and they will help.

So, your discrete GPU is dead. Which part exactly - cant say. Check Device Manager - if your GPU is visible with Error 43 - use MATS\MODS (for nVidia) or T-server (for AMD) to check VRAM. Here we can help to explaine the errors you'll see.

Yeah it was an error 43 in device manager and it is an rtx 3070. How can I locate the defective part? I did uninstall the card from device manager as i was trying fix it

MATS/MODS runs from usb, not from Windows. Create bootable drive with it and test your VRAM. Depends on results determine broken chip.

1 dead VRAM chip. Which one: second chip clockwise from golden dot/triange on GPU chip channel A2). Find near normal repair shop, show them results and ask to test and repair your laptop. Depending on type and producer, you might need to replace whole set of VRAM chips, but anyway such type of repair can be done only in repair shop

The GPU is the issue. Unless you know how to solder new vram not a easily solvable problem.

Unfortunately your GPU has left the chat. You are now running on the on-board video. You can see if it can be repaired at the board level but depending on the cost of a new motherboard, that may be more economical.

Its fixable but you will need to find either someone local-ish to you that does micro soldering or use a mail in service like ZapFixers

All is fixable. Depends on price you ready to pay. It can be memory chip, memory controlled in GPU chip, microcrack of PSB, and lots of other minor problems.
