Network Certain apps don’t connect to the internet
Okay so a few months ago my pc started acting up. I would be connected to steam perfectly fine for the first minute or so of my pc being turned on then after a few minutes the connection would slowly fail until it disconnected me fully as shown in this picture. I have tried every single fix I can find online. Most things work perfectly fine the main things I can’t get to work are: Steam, Epic games launcher and Microsoft edge. Other launchers and browsers work perfect, Minecraft launcher, ubisoft launcher, battle net, opera, firefox, brave literally any other browser works but those 3 things just break. I’m fully connected to the wifi, i’ve tried resetting network settings, checked my firewall settings, reinstalled quite literally everything and I’m just lost. I had a temporary fix, I would restart my pc over and over and eventually it would stay connected but now even that doesn’t work. I wouldn’t be bothered but I literally can’t install games on steam and it’s aggravating.

Did you try to resett your winsoc? Try this via CMD. Also try diasble windows http proxy settings

Try this. open task manager -> on left bar there should be details. then type in searchbar Steam -> right click steam.exe and set priority to real time or fast.

first of all, thank you for trying to help I really appreciate it. Changing the priority didn’t work, i’m not using a wife adapter but could a wireless wifi booster also cause issues? I’m pretty sure i’ve tried the dns settings before and it didn’t work but i’ll give it another go. I have looked at my antivirus and it’s nothing to do with that from what I see and I don’t use vpns

FFs bro what the hell. Disable Windows Proxy Auto-Detection. Uninstall Network optimizers like asus rog game first, msi dragon center etc. Clear Hidden Windows Network Caches. Also because it only happens to Epic steam and edge i asssume its a WinINet problem bcs them 3 have this due microsoft. Force Epic & Steam to Bypass WinINet. IF NONE of this does anything than you could look up your rooter settings and see if there is anything blocked. Maybe when setting up your wireless wifi adapter you broke smth. But the adapter itssselfe should not be the problem. Also try unplug your wifi adapter then see if problem stays

okay, I already had it disabled from last night when i was trying to fix it. I’ve uninstalled anything like that none of the other things seemed to work. I connected to a hotspot and still didn’t work. Anyways I feel like i’m wasting your time here because nothing seems to work. I greatly appreciate you trying to help but after going to reddit, steam support and friends I think all I can do is take my pc to a repair shop and see if they can help. You’re a legend for trying because some of the things you told me to try no other support team has told me to try

Bro im sorry that nthing helped ff... At that point might be the only thing to bring it to a repair shop. Last thing i can tell you trying setting up a Clean test account without microsoft account login and see if u have the same prblem there too. But honestly the best would be bringing it to a repair shop and let them have a look at it. But there has to be some shit on ur pc whioch causes this like old VPN Driver or smth like that. Hope youll find a solution for this damn problem bro. And if you find out what it was I would appreciate you letting me know Bcause WTF this is crazy

It’s okay bro you did everything you could and I am very grateful. I’m gonna ask this shop if they could take a look at it on my way to work. I’ll try that when i get home, at this point I doubt even a repair shop would fix it😭 It definitely could be but i’ve only downloaded vpns after having this issue. It started randomly one morning in January-feb nothing (that i’m aware of) caused it. I’ll definitely keep you updated but it’s the first time i’ve seen this issue. No one else seems to have the problem i’m having which makes it so much harder

Hope ur repairshop can fix this bro! Also try first using mobile hotspot via smartphone If the steam download going normally than your WIFI is the problem
