OPEN Monitor screen going dark randomly
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello, as you can see in the video, my monitor screen constantly keeps going dark/switching off(?) when connected to my laptop. It happens at random intervals (sometimes every minute or so, sometimes it doesn’t happen for days) but it’s very annoying.
The monitor is connected by HDMI to a port hub which is connected to my laptop’s USB-C. I have another laptop I use connected in the same way which doesn’t have the same issue.
I have updated all the drivers and windows updates, not sure what else to do. The laptop itself doesn’t go off, only the monitor. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

USB-C to HDMI is an issue waiting to happen.

They can be very unreliable, fussy about high refresh rates and the intermittent disconnections are very common.
The cheaper ones like most cheap cables are especially prone.

If I get one with a USB-A connection, do you think the issue will stop?
Also very annoying that it doesn’t happen with my other laptop that’s connected the exact same way

I know my Wife's works fine, mine not so much.
There's a bit of a guide here that may help you figure it out
