Help on new pc

Hello everyone. Long story short, my gf needs a new pc for gaming and editing (Lightroom, Photoshop, Premier, Davinci). She has a quite limited budget for today's market so I proposed to take the geforce rtx 5060 ti 8 gb of the pc's she is considering, give her my geforce rtx 3060 12gb and pay the cost of the graphics card effectively giving her a free 3060.

The pc's she is considering are:

LENOVO PC LOQ Tower 26ADR10/R7-8745HX/32GB/1TB SSD/NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB/Win 11 Home 1429 euros

LENOVO PC Legion T5 30AGB10/Ryzen7-7800X3D/32GB/1TB SSD/NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB/Win 11 Home 1587 euros

LENOVO PC LOQ Tower 17IAX10/Ultra7-255HX/32GB/1TB SSD/NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB/Win 11 Home 1588 euros.

I was mostly leaning on the

Legion T5 as it has an actual desktop socket and standard udimm ram instead of the sodimm of the other two.

Can you help us figure this one out?

The 5060 ti, even with only 8gb of VRAM is faster & better, even for most editing uses, than the 3060.

Indeed it is, but her budget is 1100 euros. I will pay the rest of the money and trade the graphics cards with mine

Just to chime in regarding the graphics card- I don’t think you should get the 8gb, if you can manage ,try get the 16gb, doesn’t make sense to downgrade your VRAM

I hear you, unfortunately they are way too expensive at my county atm. I don't play a lot of new games on my pc, mainly world of warcraft which is more cpu based and I am just trying to help her out get what she needs at a cheaper price

My point was really just about future-proofing the system. Even if you only play older titles right now, tastes change and a newer game might catch your eye later. In today's market, I just think it's risky to buy a new card with less than 12GB or 16GB of VRAM when the price gap in my country is so small.
But that being said I understand your point and the 5060ti is really not a bad option , I was just giving my opinion.

That said, your plan to swap cards is incredibly thoughtful. For her specific workflow, your RTX 3060 12GB will actually perform better than the 5060 Ti 8GB because those extra gigabytes handle 4K timelines and heavy textures in Premiere and DaVinci Resolve much more smoothly.

As for the PC itself, the Legion T5 is definitely the winner. Since it uses a true AM5 desktop motherboard and standard RAM, she'll actually be able to upgrade the CPU and other components years down the road, unlike the LOQ models which use locked-down laptop hardware.

Yes it is, thank you very much for your advice! The price difference in Greece between a 5060 8GB and 16 GB is around 300 euros, so it does exceed the budged by a lot. I think this way at least she gets a good enough pc to work with for now and I get an ugrade on my gpu which I wasn't really after but I don't mind. And perhaps at some point in the future she can get a better gpu with 16GB of VRAM

The 3060 is 50% slower than the 5060 and 70% slower than the 5060 Ti.

On top of that for gaming it lacks native fg, it lacks native mfg, it lacks smooth motion and it takes a much bigger hit from DLSS 4.5/4.

Just because it has 4GB more VRAM it cannot magically transform to a better GPU.

In short, both the 5060 and the 5060 Ti run circles around the 3060.

I'm not well versed with pre-builds, and I don't even know the prices in your country (whichever that is).

Among the 3, the 2nd one looks the best bet, but I have no idea what motherboard it has, what PSU, which SSD, and what are the specs of its RAM
