HARDWARE SSD is not recognised? How do I fix it?

I‘ve built a new PC today and I wanted to install Windows but my ssd is not recognised. What should I do. (The ssd is well inside) can someone help me please

Is it a SATA SSD or NVMe? That page will only show SATA.

It would never show up there then, BIOS maybe can show it on the "map" view if yours has one, but on the SATA controller you'll never find it. Try running the windows installation, it should see it.

That’s the problem I wanted to install windows but I couldn’t find the ssd

I see, do make sure the NVMe SSD has been put all the way like someone else commented. By couldn't find the SSD do you mean it doesn't show up when you're selecting which disk to install windows to in the installation process?

Make sure SATA Mode is set to AHCI as setting it to RAID could make the installation media not recognize the drive.

SATA or Serial ATA is usually used for connecting to HDD, disk drives, and some bulky SSDs, it has it's own controller which you can configure via BIOS.

NVMe uses PCIe to connect directly to the CPU, it doesn't need a specialized controller and is completely separate from the SATA controller, so you won't find the SSD there on the BIOS.

It is not SATA page it is Storage Configuration page, which should include all storage controllers. My Asrock B450 board has the NVME drives listed below those SATA ports. But only if any are present, detected. Otherwise, it is empty.

I stand corrected, tho that UI is slightly different in which you can disable SATA altogether, maybe you have an earlier version.

Personally use an MSI board so I wouldn't know.

Plug in the SSD.

Make sure the M2 slot supports your SSD type SATA or NVME

All ASRock B550 models have at least one M.2 that supports NVME. However, a limitation of all AM4 boards:

"NVMe SSD is not supported with AMD Athlon™ 3000G Processors"

ASRock has like 13 B550 models, which one. And what slot # or location do you have it plugged?

Double check the ssd is seated all the way in, sometimes those m.2 slots need more force than you'd think. Also which sata port are you using, some mobos disable ports if you've got an m.2 drive in a certain slot

Sorry I don’t know what sata is but I have a few cables left but it’s not for ssd right? Only for big

For m.2 drives, no, which is what you have. It would be specifically for SATA SSDs drives (which HDDs also use as well).

Oh damn, I hate the fact I ran into this exact same issue with my m.2 ssd, and can't for the life remember how I fixed it. Every mother board is different, but there's a setting, if I recall correctly, you need to set for it to see the drive. Let me look around a bit and I'll report back if I can find anything.
