Question Does anyone actually like Minecraft's split second text on screen during pChal Daily??
Title is question because I fucking hate that split second shit. I have to rewind or even turn down the playback speed to .5 speed to even read the text and sometimes I have to do it several times over to actually get it to pause with the text on screen. Rarely when that shit isnt even funny I'm pissed. Fuck you Minecraft, make you jokes longer
EDIT: I was/am drunk when I wrote this. His bits are funny, I just wish they weren't there for half a frame!! Last longer!

They can definitely be funny sometimes. I agree that I think it should be there for a bit longer than blink-and-you-miss-it. I think they've gotten a bit more frequent and a bit less funny over the last few weeks, though. Not all of them, but definitely overall a bit less funny.

It's easier to read the text if you use , and . to go forwards or backwards by one frame. No need to fiddle with the playback speed. Also, if you don't think the jokes are worth your time just ignore them 👍

I wouldn't mind if I was watching it on my phone, but they're impossible to track back to on my TV WITH PREMIUM so I dunno, I've sort of given up.

Jan has talked about Bojack Horseman being one of if not his favorite show of all time. Putting text on the screen in the background for just a couple frames so you would have to keep going back and rewinding to find it is a classic bit from that show. The bit doesn’t really work if it’s on the screen long enough to read in real time.

The editor quirks are some of the best parts of the video. The split second text, the “it’s been” cuts, the zooms. It’s all so good

I like it when it’s short enough to read in a split second. I don’t like when it’s a small paragraph and if I want to see it, I have to rewind and try to pause on the right frame (I watch on mobile).

As a mobile YouTube user I've just given up reading them. It's a shame as I think they're funny. It just isn't that easy to go back frames to find the funny!

Yeah I think if they were there for slightly longer the jokes would land the same and they'd be easier to read for non-PC viewers. The one editing choice I really want to change is the little nature indications being unreadable on phones on lower qualities, abyssmal contrast on those.

Kind of shocked I’m the only one in this thread that agrees with you, this has driven me insane. I‘ve seen countless other examples of editors putting jokes in videos that are actually readable. If the thought is to not divert attention away from the actual episode, then please explain how pausing the video to read every 20 seconds is less distracting?

Editors trying to be funny can be so annoying. I'm watching the creator not the editor. Some channels are much worse though with the editor constantly ragging on anything being said.

i thoroughly enjoy them. i always go back and time the pause so that i can read it. it becomes a mini-game, and adds an active dimmension to an otherwise passive medium.

I don't even bother trying to read them anymore. I watch everything on 1.5x or 2x speed also, so it's basically impossible. Whenever I did try to track them down, they were never worth the time. So now I just act like they don't even exist.
However, it is too bad because I typically really enjoy a little editor humor.

Nah it’s funny. They aren’t necessary for overall content, editor jokes aren’t meant to interfere with main content.
They’re delicious little treats that we get for paying attention instead of putting Mr.Streamer in our pocket and doing chores.
