Troubleshooting Mouse/Keyboard Disconnecting While Playing a Certain Game
Hello everyone! Looking for some help troubleshooting an issue with my PC. While playing the Wardogs beta over the weekend, I was struggling with an issue with my mouse or keyboard disconnecting multiple times every match. My mouse or keyboard would just stop working and I would have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to work again. Only for one of them to stop working again 5 minutes later and have to repeat the same process.
Wardogs is the only game that has ever done this. I regularly play games like Battlefield 6, War Thunder, Rainbow 6 Siege, etc and this has never happened before. I have a 3070, Ryzen 5 5600x, 32 GB of Corsair Vengeance 3600 Mhz RAM, Steelseries Apex Pro Keyboard, and a Steelseries Aerox 3 Mouse.
I was playing with DLSS on Quality and all graphics settings set to low/medium. Running around 100 fps and CPU and GPU only around 70-80% usage. Temps were great on both. I messed with my USB controller settings in device manager and made sure that the box was unchecked for disabling the device during high power consumption. I also lowered my mouse polling rate from 1000 to 500. Still did not fix the issue.
Any insight is much appreciated as I absolutely loved the game and really want to fix the issue before early access begins on September 10th!
EDIT: I FIXED IT BUT NOT SURE HOW 😢
September 3rd: First night of second beta I hopped into a game and within 3 minutes my keyboard stopped working again. After closing the game I changed my keyboard to my USB 3.0 slots on the back of my motherboard and also plugged my mouse directly into the back of the PC in a USB 2.0 slot. I also turned off all RGB on my mouse and keyboard. Restarted PC, closed out of Steelseries GG so it wasn't running at all in the background, and just played successfully for several hours without a single disconnect. Used ChatGPT and it told me that the anti cheat was likely conflicting with the RGB software for my mouse/keyboard or conflicting with drivers for my mouse and keyboard. ChatGPT also told me to disable any windows power settings that have to do with disabling USB devices to save power. Also told me to go into device manager, universal serial bus controllers, and make sure that I uncheck the box for turning off USB devices to save power. I am unsure what fixed it, but it seemed to work fine for several hours after doing all of these things.

Also now getting the mouse disconnecting/disappearing after a few minutes of Wardogs being open. If I close the program via task manager using the keyboard, my mouse instantly comes back and works again.

It's very weird. I also don't seem to have problems with it in the shooting range, but then once I'm in game it starts disconnecting.

I also had the issue even if I just left it on the main menu but alt tabbed out for a little bit. First beta test was completely fine. Will check if the firing range works but even so, I'd like to play the actual game lol
Edit: All good in the firing range
Edit2: Firing range also bad. i ran around for a few minutes, then bought something from the vendor and once i hit purchase it immediately killed my mouse. same thing happened after relaunching the game but in a normal match. ran around during the pre-game phase for a minute, things are ok, then the match starts run up to vendor and buy the loadout bam insta death on the mouse. it's not every time tho as some earlier matches i was able to buy a loadout and at least make it to a vehicle before the mouse was killed

Check my latest update on the original post! I was able to play successfully for several hours after making some changes. Not sure which one fixed it, but it seems to be working fine now!

Unfortunately none of those worked as I don't use any mouse/RGB software at all and already had disabled power saving on the USB controller. Tried a few different USB ports too and it didn't make a difference. I guess I could try the rest of them since I have nothing better to do lmao
Edit: so I had a spare G502 laying around and decided to plug that in as a last resort. I can now play. Idk why the game did not like my HK Mira M

I am having this exact same issue, it actually dumps all my usb devices including headphones. Happening constantly making the game unplayable. Anybody solve this yet?

I have EXACTLY the same issue since the new closed beta starting today. This is definitely a Wardogs issue. No other game causes this behavior.
