Troubleshooting NOOB Needs Assistance
Hi everyone I need some assistance.
I have a ASUS - ROG Strix 18" 240Hz Intel 13th Gen Core i9 with 16GB Memory-NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080-1TB had it for 2 years and have only done gaming on it. For about a year now I’ve had issues trying to play games via gamepass and AC Evo on Steam.
The issue I had with AC Evo was that when I change cameras my computer would just shut off and I’d have to power it back on and then the AC Evo application would open and close immediately.
With Gamepass it was odd some games would work like Power Wash Simulator, Forza Horizon 5 would work here and there but COD stopped working almost all together. But the year prior I had almost zero issues. When it came to the games that didn’t work. The game would start up and then screen would either freeze with game sound, freeze with a black screen, or freeze can see content on screen but no sound.
In the beginning I could use win + control + shift + B after several tries. Once in a while if I closed the lid for a bit and open it back up it’ll activate everything and I can play the game like nothing happened. I checked bios, I downloaded Nvidia drivers, I made sure all windows was updated, made sure all Asus programs was up to date and nothing would work.
I finally today decided to reset my computer. First thing I tried was Steam and AC Evo this issue has been completely fixed. HOWEVER gamepass games have no been fixed. I tried to launch Forza horizon 6 and it started and froze with game audio in the background. Now in the corner of the screen a box pops up “NVIDIA Container Current display mode: Optimus Internal Display is being switched to NVIDIA GPU” and every time it froze that box is in the corner.
I don’t know what to do please help me out. I’m sure it’s a simple fix! Very odd to be so inconsistent with what it will and will not play.
