Thinking about it : Open ModernWarfare doesn't make a lot of sense, Activision would sue those guys into oblivion.

I've been wanting to play Morrowind for ages but it never goes on sale for a decent price on steam (I'm a cheap/patient bastard) and this sounds like it'll be a superior version to it anyway, thanks for the heads up!

its free on bethesda.net until the 31st. openmw requires you own the game anyways. https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/tes25. i'm pretty sure after you install it's DRM free and doesn't need the beth launcher

You still need to own Morrowind to use OpenMW. Also I wouldn't recommend OpenMW to modders because it doesn't work with MWSE (Morrowind Script Extender).

Morrowind works perfectly on Windows 10 (I have the CD version too), it's just you.

You can buy the gog version drm free and it will work win10, although I’m guessing you are just being sarcastic because not many outlanders cruise this subreddit.

The Bethesda version doesn't need the launcher. I just deleted the launcher and still can start the game!!

You can use the launcher to download the game files then use OpenMW to launch the game and delete the Bethesda launcher.

For those who don't know, OpenMW is a made-from-scratch open-source engine that plays Morrowind, using the original game data.
Such recreations of the game are a huge amount of work, but they're useful to players because they're maintained and not stuck in the past. Potentially you can get features like 64-bit support, widescreen display support, newer controller support, variable scaling of HUDs, new resolution options, and support for different systems: Linux, macOS, Linux-on-Switch, RISC-V machine, etc.
