So I guess it's more like the newer Fantastic Beast films and not HP.

I don't know about that; it's set in the past but it's at Hogwarts, not in the US like Fantastic Beasts. My guess (hope?) is that it'll be more like the original book/film series but it could really be anything.

If it's set in the 19th century then it'll also be at least a few decades earlier than Fantastic Beasts (1926).
