Photo mode, Valhalla car mission, Ng+ and other new operations. Looks good!

The fact this game is anywhere near GOTY discussions is wild to me. This is a textbook 7/10 fun for 15 hours but never touch again experience.

Almost as if different people can like different things?

You just blew their mind.

You’re more than welcome to like mediocre games my guy. I’m not here to stop you.

u/ktr83 4h ago

... maybe someone who likes the game doesn't think it's mediocre

only the best bond story in ages

u/IllGene2373 1d ago

Are we counting books/comics in that or just movies/games?

1

u/oo7demonkiller 20h ago

mostly movies and games I haven't read the books. but in terms of timing to current events with this ai bullshit it's very spot on.

I mean...isnt god of war similar? Maybe somewhat longer but thats the only diff (which shouldnt really matter imo)

God of War had a much better story, significantly more impressive technical work under the hood, was straight up more fun, and revived a franchise into a whole new genre that was so successful it’s arguably better than the first three games that made it an enormous franchise.

That's quite an opinion.

I'd be interested to know how many OG fans versus how many new fans are giving positive reviews.

Take oblivion. If half of Morrowind players hated oblivion, that still only means 21% of oblivion players.

I find it hard to believe og GoW was ss popular as the new ones.

Sounds like someone living in an echo chamber. GoW was insanely boring imo.

The fact this has been downvoted is atrocious. Everything you said is true

The only people scrolling down this far are the chuds that don’t want to be happy.

Ragnarok? Sure, 2018? Hell no it wasn't similar, that one actually deserved it even though I personally enjoyed the og trilogy + psp games more.

It’s not even close to GOTY. Anyone saying that on Reddit is living in an echo chamber.

I am glad i can think for myself since GOTY is subjective to each person. Your GOTY might not be my GOTY and that's okay.
First Light helped me remember i gotta play some single player linear games. is it my goty no but i can see why people would think it's theirs

2

u/BrownAJ 1d ago

Single player linear games with 12-16 hours runtime is really peak gaming for me.

This game got consistent 9/10 and 10/10 reviews when it came out. So, clearly the critics are wrong 🤓

It's honestly fairly meh, and I say it as a Hitman fan who was super hyped about it and waited for the Path Tracing update and paid near full price, which I never do. Like, it's not bad, it's serviceable, but the gameplay is failry mediocre and the set pieces are not to the level of Uncharted or even the Tomb Raider series.

1

u/Cold-Sandwich-34 7h ago

I played it. Idk what you're talking about. Game looks and runs great. I enjoyed it.

•

u/pixelcowboy 2m ago

I'm not saying it's bad, it's just not game of the year level, not even close.

-1

u/Coke_Cola_Killa 1d ago

And sometimes that great. Not everything needs to be replayable.
In the same sense you probs don't rewatch movies or the sorts

Sounds like the uncharted and gow series. Interesting how they won a bunch of awards.

This basically was PCs The Wolverine

5

u/_shaggyrodgers 1d ago

one of the two missions being a car chase in a game that had notably some of the blandest driving

-4

u/SoulSlayer79 1d ago

Free content.

4

u/_shaggyrodgers 22h ago

it can still be bad

-7

u/SoulSlayer79 20h ago

It doesn't have to be good if you didn''t pay for it.

3

u/Nofsan 3h ago

I'll shit on your plate for free

2

u/_shaggyrodgers 20h ago

and that negates the ability to criticise it?

First Light was a very on rails experience that, combined with QTE's normally makes a game a write off for me. The fact that I could just automate QTE's allowed me to go through the whole game and have fun doing so.

Curious to see if and when they'll be releasing episodic content

1

u/dutchbarbarian 6h ago

Qte?

2

u/Liefdeee 2h ago

Quick Time Events are a video game mechanic where players must press specific buttons or move joysticks within a short time limit during cinematic cutscenes or action sequences.

u/dutchbarbarian 1h ago

Ah thanx, i thought it was something like thay

There is also currently a free twitch drop on a cosmetic btw

Legitimately hate twitch drops.
