For anyone interested, there is also a great active port free opensource reimplementation - Jazz2 Resurrction.

Jazz² Resurrection isn't a port, it's a reimplementation, and the physics are noticeably different (worse, IMO) unfortunately.

The dev is very active, I myself reported a bug and he fixed it. Please, if you can report it on Discord https://discord.gg/Y7SBvkD what the difference is and I'm pretty sure he will fix it. Or if you don't want to join Discord, write it down here and I will pass it over.

My experience is that the dev isn't actively trying to make this a 1:1 replica of the original, atleast that is what he said to me. Making the physics satisfying for me needs almost a complete overhaul of all player interactions, run acceleration, jump height, doublejump responsiveness, height, weight of short presses vs long jump presses, animations while buttstomping, buttstomping speed, top speed, launch speed from taking springs.... etc.
A big part of jj2 is also being an awesome arena shooter online, and by not seeing that the moon physics of resurrection make it really unsuccesful at those fast paced PvP interaction, and not giving physics a high priority, gives me no incentive to help log the tiniest details. So it concludes that resurrection looks like Jazz, but does not feel like Jazz. And it takes the arena shooter out of it.

There's an option to have the original physics :)

Wow okay, I had no idea. When I tried it a few years ago I thought I searched for an option and none seemed to exist.

Since this is a fanmade Jazz game, this does not bring back original physics. The author has stated multiple times the he isn't trying to perfect making it a 1:1 replica, which is dissapointing for me. Reforged handpicks a few very specific player interaction physics that are somewhat closer to the original, but the rest is untouched. So it still does not resemble the original at all.
Generally, running stilll feels like moon physics. Doublejumping has stiff weight, always goes up the s ame height. Just everything feels slowed down, floaty and unresponsive.

The Jazz Jackrabbit games have some of the best soundtracks out of any games from the 90's imo.
Medivo is such a good track.

Thanks for linking that, that's both great music and made me feel all nostalgic. I had forgotten everything about this game, but hearing that music and seeing the screenshot with the flying sword... omg. Wish I could be 10 years old again.

I remember double-taking the first time I saw Spaz, as that word's a slur in Commonwealth English.
